    Looking for a .308 for a lefty....

Looking for a good .308 bolt action, semi, etc for a left handed shooter. Anyone got any suggestions on where to start looking for something like this?

    Thanks.

Ash, visit the Savage website and look at the following models.

    Weather Warrior 16 FLHSS

    Hunter Series 11 FLNS

Classic Series 14 American Classic Left Hand

The Savage bolt action is reliable and accurate out of the box. Prices are typically reasonable. Hope this helps.

If you don't need a magazine fed gun a break action single shot is about as versatile as you can get for either hand. My Handi-rifle in .308 is literally the most accurate center fire rifle I own and also the least expensive. My scope cost more than the gun did.

Ditto on the Savage, shot my neighbors even though I am right handed and it was a little awkward. It was making 3 shot groups at 100 yards with all of the holes touching.

Depends on what you're looking for. I've got 2 lefty bolt guns, one is a 700 BDL, the other is a Ruger M77 Hawkeye. I had a Savage 10GLXP3, but I didn't much care for it. As a low end gun ito was fine, but it kicked like mule compared to the other two. It was just too lightwieght for my tastes.

Be patient, they're out there, I swear. I got both of mine through blind luck. The Ruger was slightly used, had a Leupold 2-7x scope and the stock was bedded, paid right at 6 bills for. The Remy was a complete fluke. The store had just got it in less than 4 hrs before I saw it. Traded the Savage and $300 to get the rifle and a Sightron S1 3-9 scope.

Don't look on anybody's website, they lie. According to Remington's website, they don't even offer a LH .308 unless it's the Varminter or SPS models. Who wants to lug a bull barrel all day long through the bush? Neither did Ruger. Pissed me off that they would offer every flippin' caliber under the sun on a LH rifle except .308.

Good luck in your endeavor, nonetheless!
How do you compromise with someone when their idea of compromise is to give them what THEY want?

An M1A is pretty amnidexterious. They are easy to run left handed perhaps easier than right handed.
