Finally Somebody is making

A midlength gas system light weight profile 16" carbine barrel! I've been thinking about a barrel like this for 3 years and it looks like Daniel Defense is making them now. Aim has them in stock.

Actually DTI has one as well, for a lower price. (Though I don't doubt the Daniel Defense is most likely a better barrel.)

Hadn't seen the Del-ton before. It also must be realtively new on the market. I do note that the DD barrel is hammer forged so it should be quite high quality. I also notice the front sight on the DTI unit does not have the front sight post, spring or detent pin, also no sling swivel. Probably raise the price $40 easy to get those parts.

Yeah, the DTI one came out earlier this year. Still pretty new to the market.

I don't know about the other parts, but from the pictures they have of the DD unit at AIM, it doesn't appear that it has a sling swivel either. I wouldn't be surprized if the DD unit didn't have the front sight post, spring, or detent pin either.

If I was in the market for such a barrel, it would be hard to choose which one to go with. I do like the DD one though. It's just good to see these type of barrel out there now.
