Right now I do not have a particular firearm I keep or travel with in the truck.I do carry a concealed handgun everywhere I legally can.

glock 19 with 3 mags in glove box.
An S&W sigma .40 cal, mostly cause i don't care if it gets beat up bouncing around in the glove box and it's been a competely reliable gun for over 500 rounds
I leave the extra mags in glove box all the time, but the pistol goes with me everywhere I go. I have two young kids, so out of the 50 or so firearms, only two stay out of the safe.
glock 19 that is with me 24-7, and a shotgun for HD if Im out and the wife is the only one home.
Always bring it in, although i have forgotten a couple of times
What do you guys think of the hi-point pistols?

Being out of work, I had to sell my normal carry gun.
Normally, around here, I feel pretty safe and don't feel carrying one is really necessary on every trip.
Now, if I go somewhere I'm not familiar with, I'll carry my AK pistol. I'll also carry my AK rifle if I know I won't be getting out of the truck. We're allowed to carry our rifles with a loaded mag inserted, but not one in the chamber. I only carry 1 loaded mag for each gun. Hell, if 40 rds. aren't enough, I'll just give up.
Hopefully, I'll get a normal handgun to carry again soon.
There's no problem an AK can't solve...........

Not much, they need to be kept clean which doesn't always happen with a car weapon. The striker mechanism they use isn't the best for chambered round carry and at $150-200 you can find higher quality used firearms that work much better. In the last 3 months I've bought an Astra 70 for $225, a Sigma 9mm for $200 and a Chinese Tok 9mm for $135, any of which would be a better carry firearm then a hipoint IMO.
I don't have a weapon that stays in my truck exclusively. I carry my XD-9 with me all the time. It goes with me where ever I go. So, I guess, my XD-9 is my truck, car, concealed carry weapon of choice during the summer time. In the winter, it's either my G-21 or my Beretta 92fs.

With the state laws, the only firearms I can carry in my vehicle are either a rifle or shotgun. I don't feel the need to carry one, usually, so I seldom do.

i keep a Glock 22 chambered with a full mag and 2-3 spare mags in the truck at all times. i'm not allowed a loaded rifle/shotty here in MO so i just don't bother.
and like HDR i can leave whatever i want in the truck, including keys with the windows down, and no one bothers anything.

I normally don't leave our propperty without the Glock 19 or 21 on me. If traveling a distance, I always bring a Chinese Tokarev along. The 7.62X25 round seems excellent for penetration.
Usually my WASR 10/63 UF, with a 30 round mag, sometimes with a four mag chest rig my brother got for me in Baghdad.
Sometimes my Glock 21, usually with no extra mags.
When I carry, it's two Tok .30s in IWB on both hips
