Dammit. Threads like these make me want to invest in a Saiga-12 and a few drums.
Nah. Just get one of these babies. I would think drums are in the works for it .

WTF? Why does it only show the link and not the vid?
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson
Excellent write-up that covers the SHTF scenario in total. Thank you for sharing!
Simo Hayha was one bad ass dude. He used some good tactics in the snow warfare. Putting snow in front of him to better conceal his position and snow in his mouth to reduce breath vapor. If/when it hits and if its a major deal, concealment and sniping tactics would reign supreme if BG's are in your area.

That's one thing really no one talks about is the time of year if it happens! It could change everything. No fresh food to eat if it's late fall, winter, early spring. Especially now since our growing season is coming to a end in the next couple of months. What type of fuel, gas, wood, etc. Just something to think about.

Recon,
Exactly, winter in Michigan is shitty! Lack of food stuffs and fresh water would be the main killer, be it because of people looting for it, or there simply isnt any at all. There are deer, rabbits, ducks and goose in this area. Fish too. But those birds leave when it gets cold. If SHTF were to happen before that my ass would be down at the duck pond and river areas in a heartbeat, with a bow and a .22 gathering what I can.
