Thumbs up What's in your pocket today?

What knife or knives are you carrying today? For me it's a Kershaw titanium Tyrade with a 154CM and CPM D2 composite blade. Good sized, fast opening, rock solid and hair popping sharp. I've got several composite and non-composite blades from Kershaw and Spyderco that use CPM D2 and it is one great steel. Too bad Crucible no longer produces it. If you can find a blade in CPM D2 (not the same as regular D2) buy it. You'll be amazed at it's ability to take and hold a superior edge.

Left pocket: wallet and 2 dimes.
    Right pocket: my keyring.
Right hip: my holster - minus the pistol (love those "gun free school zones").

    Not very exciting, huh?

All the more reason to carry a blade of some kind.

    SOG Flash.
Love this thing. Assist opening, good blade, retains the edge pretty well.

    Buck

This my preferred pocket cutter. I can't stand heavy things in my pockets. This Buck is light and easily forgotten that I'm carrying it.
    It's a Buck I got from Wally-World 6 yrs ago.
Stays sharp and easy to get a fine edge back.

    Cold Steel Voyager

I carry an old Cold Steel Voyager with the 4" Tanto point plain edge. Have had it for over 10 years, it's still going strong. Holds an edge real well, can shave the hair off my arm.

I've got one of those too as well as the Junyard Dog II CPM-D2 composite blade. The Kershaw composites are nice.

While not they are not CPM-D2 I'm still looking to add a:

    Kershaw Rake

    Kershaw Speedform

    Kershaw Tilt

    http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/st....html?s=KSTILT

The Kershaw Volt IS CPM-D2 but I think I missed the boat on this one as it appears to have been a limited run and out of stock at most dealers.

That would be a Buck Juno. Pretty sure they are out of production now but you can still find them if you shop around. Might have to add one to my collection.

I believe you are correct. I went last year looking for another and couldn't find one.
I used the heavy brass Buck yrs. ago. I just didn't care for it much. Too heavy even when in the sheath.

    Another thing while I'm here.
I started buying some pocket knives a couple yrs. ago. They are imported by a company in Memphis, I believe.
Anyway, these are very well built and fit and finish are in line with Case, Boker, and others.
I'm not a steel expert, but these hold a good edge and sharpen great. 440 Stainless.
Model names are Cowan Creek, Rough Rider, White Tail, etc.(4 in center of pic)

Today I carried this. I rotate between 3 different knives at the moment. If I could afford it, it would be a hundred or so.

IIRC White Tail Cutlery was a decent, older brand that switched to a cheap Pakistani made model. If yours isn't marked as made in Pstan then it might be the older one (kind of looks like an older one) and a pretty decent knife.

I did a search and the only Rough Rider I can find is a chinese brand. Didn't find anything on the Cowan Creek.

They are all imported from China. I see no flaws in material or workmanship in these.
The quality really surprised me. Normally, you would expect to see junk like Taiwan turned out in years gone by.

Some parts of China are still turning out crap but I have several Spyderco models that are made in China what are fantastic knives and excellent values, ie, the Persistence and Tenascious. Their Byrd line of knives is also made there and while I have not yet acquired one they are also highly regarded at their price point.

My Spyderco Gayle Bradley (I can't applaud this knife enough, it's superb) and my Bushcraft are both Taiwan made and I could not be more pleased. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with Spyderco's involvement in not only lining up the vendors but in overall QC and following the knife from start to finish. China has finally realized that they can produce quality as well as quantity.

I've got probably a dozen Benchmades but have yet to add a Griptilian to the collection. I need to remedy that. The Benchmade Axis lock is fantastic.

Same thing I carry everyday, my Buck Sirus.

Though, I was in a state of panic last night because I thought I lost it. I found it and all was good.
