Question Something you don't run across every day

Was checking out a local auction house online and found the following auction listing:

Winchester M70, 458mag, Super grade, appears unfired (NO BOLT)!

    Yep, the bolt is missing.

First thing I was wondering is how hard would it be to get a new bolt fit to the gun (it dates to 1966)?

    Second, what would that cost?

Third, might it go cheap enough without the bolt to make it worth considering?

A bare bolt, not assembly, from Numrich is $100.

If the price were right, I'd go for it and worry about getting a bolt later. A bolt shouldn't be that hard to come by. That's one of those rifles that are worth having. After all, they're hell on squirrels.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Wasn't sure what all would be involved with fitting a new bolt. If it were like an Enfield where you can change out the numbered bolt heads it'd be one thing but I was thinking that depending on what changes they might have made since 1966. acquiring and fitting a new bolt might be an expensive proposition.

As it gets closer to the auction date we'll we what kind of online "prebids" it gets and go from there. Thanks for the replies.
