    picked up another makarov

Hit one of the crappier local shops today and spotted a stainless Mak with the used pistols, so I popped on it. It's a bwest import in .380 with adjustable sights. came with 2 mags and 2 sets of grips (factory black plastic and aftermarket rubber) for $220 OTD. Over all it's in pretty decent shape, few scratches but nothing bad.

where might one find a 9x18 barrel?

Sounds like a great deal. Wish I could find a deal like that on a Mak,

It sounds like one of the Commercial for Import Russian pistols that came in during the early 1990's. You won't find a barrel and really why would you. .380 is an OK chambering, not much different than Mak and still easier to find the rounds most times over the 9x18.

    Price.

.380 is way more expensive but not a way better round.

numrich has them, I'll take the 9x18 because I already have a gun chambered in it, and it's cheaper and more powerful than the .380

    Good deal.
I found my IJ70-17AS (with 2 mags) about 3 years ago for $169.
I have plenty of other Maks so .380 is fine with me.

9x18 is cheaper, from my experience more powerful, AMD there was a time that .380 was rarer than hens teeth and about 40 bucks a box.
Being ready is not what matters. What matters is winning after you get there.

Well, .380 is easy to find right now - so just stock up! Use the money you'd spend on the barrel and buy ammo.

    BTW, congrats!!

I like my Mak a lot. Haven't shot it in a while...

barrels are only 44 for a stainless, 36 for a surplus, thats only 2 boxes of .380...
