Exclamation Long Time Member (Dr. Gonzo GED) Needs help

LLong time member, Dr. Gonzo GED, is in dire straights and in need of some help to prevent him from becoming homeless in January.

First and foremost, he needs and prefers getting a job. He is in NE (waiting for his PM stating exactly what area in NE). When I find out exactly where, I'll post for you guys in that area who might give him a job lead.

If you would like to donate to help out, PM me and I will give you info as where to send funds. Any amount will be a blessing.

    Please give what you can.
    Thanks!!!!

I edited this post to include his resume.

    Objective:
To utilize and expand professional skill sets in a synergistic business environment.

    Related employment:

    Image Movers Digital (2009-2010).

    Art Production Assistant:
Acted in support role to company Vice President on front end development of at least half a dozen properties. Responsible for the production and distribution of archival assets to our company board of directors and department heads. Operated and maintained Epson Stylus Pro printers and plotters producing a very high volume of presentation materials for our clients and executive staff. Co-ordinated supply vendors and in house events. Also acted as courier, delivering mission critical departmental assets between company offices across state.

    LAIKA, Inc. (2004-2008).

    Production Runner:
Facilitated interdepartmental workflow during feature film pre-production. Responsible for all project supply needs and related expenditure reports. Produced and distributed model packets throughout our projects departments. Organized in house events, and filled role of safety coordinator. Also served as a member of our emergency action planning committee.

On-call film runner for editing department:
Acted as overnight courier between Portland and Seattle on film development runs.

    Administrative services assistant:
Assisted in general facilities supply and maintenance. Responsible for set up and supply of new office hires, as well as facilitating complete office moves and set up for established employees. Also performed runner duties and submitted expenditure reports as necessary.

    Art Institute of Portland (2003-2005).

    Tech support:
Responsible for demonstration and rental of digital multi media production equipment to student body. This included video cameras, audio recorders, SLR cameras, and all the associated lighting and grip equipment that goes with them.

    Film Credits:

    Mars Needs Moms, 2011
    Art Production Assistant

    Disney's "A Christmas Carol", 2009
    Art Production Assistant

    Internships:

    LAIKA, Inc. (2004):
Acted as production assistant on the award winning animation short Moongirl.

    Drastic Plastic Records (2003-2004):
Assisted in the recording and engineering of several demo projects and two full length albums.

    Computer Programs used professionally:
    Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Illustrator
    Adobe After effects
    Adobe Acrobat
    Microsoft Word
    Excel
    Powerpoint
    Outlook
    Iview
    Shotgun
    Correl Painter
    Final Cut Pro

That's my current resume, but I also have a great deal of experience in customer service / sales, food service both front of house and back, shipping and recieving / office support, and also some basic facilities maintenance. I've done some small part fabrication and assembly work building scale models. Also some polyurethane casting, as well as some entry level woodwork and painting / staining. Also done a large amount of high quality / high volume printing and matte work. I'm computer litterate, proficient on both Mac and PC platforms, and most importantly, I am HIGHLY motivated to start work. Oh, and I just passed my OLCC test and food handlers test, so I could work as a bar back now. (State requirment for serving alcohol.)

I am in NE Portland Oregon. I'm not planning to move any time soon. I tried relocating to California where I have family a few months ago, and that was a horrible and costly mistake. At the moment I really cannot afford relocation, moneywise or otherwise.

Not to confuse anybody, I have found a room, and the rent is payed for the next 30 days. Just got in on the first, but until yesterday I had been homeless since march of last year. I lived in a office space for a while, and I've been couch surfing for most of the rest of the time, or living in flea bag motels a couple days here and there when we could spring for it. I don't have any children, thank god, because it would be awfull for kids to be in this situation. My income was unemployment, but it went hand to mouth and it ran out last week. I used most of my last check to pay for my room.

Can he weld and is he willing to move to central WI? I run a weld crew on 2nd/3rd shift and I'm having the worst damn luck finding a qualified person that will start @ $16hr and work mass overtime. In fact right at this moment I have a 3" stack of applications that my boss needs me to go over and so far the pool is full of fuck.

There are plenty of jobs in ND working oil. Pay good, but long hard work.

Chiak - I think he does. I don't know if he wants to move - but that is very good of you to offer!

And I want to urge the members so inclined to make a cash donation - can send it to Slamfire who is collecting right now - the member needs some immediate help.

    TIA

I could likely put a welder to work also if he can weld pipe. May in January as construction labor, refinery work. We have jobs in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and I'm on one in New Mexico.

That sounds like an opportunity to develop some neighborhoods there. Hell, buy some land and start buying cabins and renting them out - or selling them on lots. That's what I'd do.

You could probably have the land and cabins paid for in 5 years - or if you sell them, you'd be making 20% or better return on investment immediately.

Thought the same thing. And from the little I've read, I mean there is NO place to live including RV spots.

Just curious as to what company is doing pipe/refinery work in Texas. In a past life before the Army, I worked pipefitting and pipewelding for B&R
