Last weekend I used Boddington's Pale Ale & Murphy's Stout.
Tonight I decided to try Bass Pale Ale & Guinness Draught.
I like 'em both but they sure do have there differences.
So what are your guys favorites?

I have, haven't had one in years though. I thought Guinness was invariably the "black" component and since only Guinness on tap is true Guinness...I've only had them when I'm somewhere they have it on tap; but I can certainly see using other stouts in its place.

There are some things I will not abide within my sight!
I am gonna try and find some O'Hara's this weekend. They make a stout that I love more than Guinness or Murphy's.
They also make a red that is ten times better than Killian's.
Neither my wife or her sister are dark beer drinkers, but they both loved the Boddington's and Murphy's. But they did not like the Bass and Guinness mix.

I had several in a cool "standing bar" (high tables, no chairs so everyone is at the same eye level more or less and mixes easier) called 300 in Tokyo last week.
Yebisu Black plus Yebisu <something else that I don't remember>. Both on tap. Nice.
But, I think Bass + Guinness is the traditional way, and thus the best.
