About this drone we lost in Iran...

Doesnt this technology do you the most good when you have it and your enemies dont?

They'll either figure out how to replicate it or at least shoot it down.

    Apparently Obama was presented with three options;

    1. Send in recovery team
    2. Send in demolition team
    3. Blow up with missile

He chose option 4, do nothing and let it fall into enemy hands.

If you are that worried about 1, 2, and 3 being perceived as an act of war DONT OPERATE IT THAT FUCKING CLOSE TO THE BORDER.

I would GUESS either the Chinese hacked into the guidance system or we dropped in a Trojan Horse.

This proves either A) Obama is a gutless coward or B) he's been paid off by the Chicoms by a heft donation to the Reelect Obama in 2012 campaign.

From the looks of the "captured" drone I saw on the news, the CIA must have flown it in there, landed and parked the thing for them.

Per reports the Russians just sold an electronic anti-drone / anti aircraft system that disrupts control of the craft. Looks like it tested well.

I agree, if you're going to spy on another country with one of the world's most advanced pieces of equipment, then for God's sake don't let it fall into enemy hands! There should have been a smoking crater from a missile strike, by the time the Iranian military got there.

Looking at the video made me quite skeptical, the drone they had had drooped wings and a real rough looking seam at the wing root. And the radar grill on the intake looked pieced together. Definitely not American aerospace attention to detail.
And unless things have changed regarding any spy plane flying over hostile airspace, they all carry a self-destruct mechanism. The U-2's and SR-71's had them, I really don't see this changing.
Also, it was stated that wreckage was identified in satellite imagery.

    I call on the Iranians!

    From the article:
"My government emphasizes that this blatant and unprovoked air violation by the United States government is tantamount to an act of hostility against the Islamic Republic of Iran in clear contravention of international law, in particular, the basic tenets of the United Nations Charter," Khazaee's letter said.

He called for U.N. condemnation of U.S. "acts of aggression," as well as "clear and effective measures to be taken to put an end to these dangerous and unlawful acts in line with the United Nations' responsibilities to maintain international and regional peace and security."
Sabre rattling to deflect from their nuclear ambitions while trying to paint the US as the aggressors!

It's probably one of ours, and the wing might have been pieced back on by the Iranians for the display purpose. The drone did have a self destruct mechanism, but some have speculated that the Russians or Chinese may have assisted Iran in developing electronic warfare capabilities, which could have interfered with the mechanism.
