A better question might be: why is Greenland called "Green-" and Iceland called "Ice-"? Obviously the early sea-faring pioneers didn't venture very far inland or they might have swapped the names around.

Uh, it dried up and turned into parched desert, which has been expanding even faster in recent decades than it has over the 1800 years prior. Desertification is a big problem in Africa.

Indeed, whats ironic is, the folks who will likely be hurt most by climate change are the folks in Africa and the Middle East who contribute the least greenhouse gases. Guess God has a weird sense of humor.
The Norse settled Greenland in the early middle ages and the Sahara desert was much more lush during Roman empire times. In geological time that was seconds ago...

ALL of Greenland? Or you mean just the coasts like now? What's your point with the Sahara desert? That would seem to strengthen the argument that climate change is happening, much faster in the last 200 years since we started spewing greenhouse gases. Just a weird coincidence, huh?

The problem for us is, there are far more people (and infrastructure!) right along the coast than there was even 200 years ago. Even a minor rise in sea-levels would flood entire cities. Think New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina was bad? We've seen nothing yet.

Global warming is for chumps. If it's getting warmer it is because the sun is putting out more energy. Man is not altering shit. Water vapor is a much more efficient means to hold on to solar energy than CO2.

This whole Global Warming thing has two purposes; futher Socalism by getting Carbon taxes established and get grant money to a bunch of lazy Academics that are Hoaxing the world into giving them millions to study something that doesn't exist, (the man made part of warming). We would be better served by study of the Sun than of cow farts and car exhaust.

Not true. His statement is that the ice cap melting would not create a rise in oceans. It won't. Ice displaces the same amount of water as it contains.

The largest area of ice over land mass is at the south pole. The ice there is about 7,000 feet thick. That's 90% of the worlds ice. No worries though, the average temperature is -37 degrees Celcius. It's not melting anytime soon.

Most of the rise and fall of the oceans throughout history have been the result of the water warming or cooling. Which it does in natural cycles.

Global warming is a scam. The earth is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

The earth doesn't have to follow a "regular" rate of warming, or cooling, just because it fits a fake paradigm perfectly. Sometimes the rate increases and sometimes, it decreases. You are mistaking an "average" for a steady change. An average is just a rate derived by adding the rates of change and dividing by a certain time period. If the rate increases a little, it still fits into the average. It doesn't set itself outside the average, at all. In the long run, it will still fit into the "average." Micro changes are just that; micro. The "micro change" still fits the average. Try worrying more about something meaningful, like world peace.

Yes. 100%. These scientists have an agenda, as their emails show. They are in it for the money it will generate. They want to be part of that 1% you so adamantly loathe....and, you are helping them reach their goal. Good for you.

    (1) True. During the Ice Age, people had to wear MUCH thicker clothes. And during the Medieval Climatic Optimum they probably wore very little.......

    (2) Incorrect. And Mars is showing not only increasing global temperatures, but also increased ozone and other ionized atoms (due to increased solar activity).

Absolutely correct. So, let's ban clouds (or at least tax them heavily).

And there we finally have a logical explanation for the rise of paganism during the medieval period.

Lets talk about naked viking chicks now.

I recall reading that elevated CO2 levels are lagging indicators of warming. Hence, warming causes CO2 levels to rise - not vice versa.

What caused the warming? A big hot glowing orb in the sky couldn't possibly have anything to do with that, now, could it? /sarc

Hard to disagree with that point !!

Over the history we are able to decipher, the earth has warmed and cooled a good many times.

This is over an hour long but well worth the watch. Thought y'all might enjoy it.

Some of the things i find most interesting in this are some of the IPCC scientists that had to file lawsuites to have themself removed from the fraudulent research they were seeing, one of the founders of greenpeace denouncing it and a semi obscure little tidbit of knowledge. Magaret Thatcher is the one that came up with the whole idea of global warming as nothing more than a sales pitch for more nuke power plants in jolly old England. Figures don't it?

    Enjoy

The important graph from the study is this:

Note the red and green lines.

The red line shows carbon emissions basically before and after WW-II. Obviously there has been an explosion of carbon emissions after WW-II (the larger slope of the line).

Now note the green line which shows glacier shortening (implying rising global temperatures). It's slope STAYS THE SAME!

It's on a (natural) upswing, but the RATE of upswing is completely UNAFFECTED by carbon!

Read the whole file at the link for more tech info if you like......

Carbon tax. GOD people are stupid.

If LAGC has even a tenth of the brain cells of a retarded aardvark, even he ought to be able to follow that graph.
