Talking Boom! Shooting Tannerite back in 2006 in Chandler, Texas video

Here's a vid of my son on the range - Lynx310 was there too along with some other gunsnet guys. At this point, a bunch of tannerite had been placed and the line was shooting at them

Loves me some tannerite. You know, the last batch my son shot was a dud. I really felt bad for him.

Man O.S.O.K. between this and the links to Classic arms for those Saiga's you're making it hard for me to hold my budget in check. So far so good but you're killing me here man. Looks like a great time.

    How so?
The reason I asked is I gave one of the bosses my last bottle of what I'll call "the old stuff" probably 10 years old. Still had the little film container for the pre measured mix. Worked great for him.
I broke open my newer case, well two years old, and it had a measuring spoon to add to a more granulated type looking powder. The amounts seemed way different.
Since I made a convert at work I want to be sure I'm telling him right since he wants to order some now. He and his son had the usual "that's awesome" reaction.
Hate to have him gets some and have dud's.
Is there more to the mixing than how the instructions read. It mentions 5 c/c to 1/2 pound; 8 c/c to a pound but only one spoon is supplied with no measurement indicated on it.

Thanks guys - yeah he's very comfortable with firearms period - as are my other two kids. I've taken the shooting many many times over the years and we used to live on an acreage and shot all of the time.

There are lots of guys on this board that know about tannerite - I am sure any questions can be answered... I do remember that there are different "recipes".

Nice guy - I think he's a member here. I forget his nom de plume.

    I hope he's still a member.

Looked like he was trying to find a spot based on ejecting shells. Did he find one?
Was that a .223 your son was shooting?

IIRC, no. It was one of my 7.62x39 AK's. My 5.45's both have 74-type brakes on em. Look at the mags too...

OK I couldn't take it anymore. I just mixed some up and boom 1st shot.
I have the 1/2 lb targets. After I knew it worked I mixed two more separately then poured them in one different container.
    Two shots but bigger boom.
See what you you went and did, thanks I needed that

    You're welcome

I wonder how much they had under that freezer to make it launch 100 feet into the air?

Just saw this on the news.
Not quite the same but maybe some inspiration for your next shoot.
