Yeah Glock has came out with the Gen 4, but the Gen 3s are still in production.
I've got an "E" series Glock with a Gen 2.5 frame (no longer made), and it wasn't clear from the pics if the OP has a Gen 3 frame or not. If he has the Gen 3 frame, then his replacement will be roughly identical, otherwise his pistol will have sprouted an accessory rail during its replacement.

I prefer the Gen 2... or really any frame that doesn't have finger grooves sprouting into the middle of my fingers.

    That's a rare one.

    An E-series G17 Gen 2.5?

Anything's possible but even so the only difference is the accessory rail. I guess if you're a collector or something this might be a bad thing, but personally I'd considered it a plus.

    Does anyone actually collect Glocks????

this is a full gen 3 with rail and finger grooves. i could give a shit what i get back because i dont use the rail anyway as long as its functional and its not a gen 4. i detest the grip texture on gen 4s.

I dunno, I am an XD guy, but I handled a Gen 4 Glock 21SF at the Fun Show a week ago. I really liked it.

Anyways, it's not east killing a Glock so... GOOD JOB! lol

Meh.......if it's been nicely done the vast majority of people wouldn't even know the difference, and of those who do most aren't going to care much if the price is right.

It's not like there's a whole lot of extra collector's value for Glocks in original condition.

unless its an oddball like a gen 2.5 or an original slick frame 17 or 19. those can bring some bucks.

Yeah maybe something rare or oddball, but a plain jane Gen 3 isn't ever gonna have much collector value with or without the finger grooves intact.

What I hate and would never buy is one that's been stippled. Oh a really well done job by a pro maybe, but most of them are just horrible looking.

I was gonna post a pic of my 91 year old M1911... but it's not nice to rub salt into polymer wounds....

My second gen Glock 17L seems to be worth a little more then a new one would.

Go ahead and post. If it's seen 36k rounds and still shoots worth a damn it's been arsenal rebuilt at least twice, maybe three times.

If hasnt seen north of 36k rounds, well, I've only met one other 91 year old virgin, and she was a nun, so itd still be worth a picture...

I had a box waiting for me when i got home.

They replaced the frame with a new Gen 3, upgraded/replaced all the internals, new sights, and new recoil spring. the only "old" parts i can see they used was the slide and barrel. Also the tennifer on the slide looks as though it may have been touched up because all the shine from carying it is gone, its clean and black just like factory.

    And all at no charge.

    I am a happy camper.
