Unhappy Had to bury our dog last night

The day finally came that I dreaded. I am so heartbroken. He was only 14 months old.

We only got 9 months to enjoy him.

It's hitting me real hard tonight.....I am the first one home....and there is nothing but silence. I look over and see an empty water bowl, stacked on top of an empty food bowl......

Here's to pussy and gunpowder. One to live for, the other to die by.....Goddamn though, I do love the smell of 'em both !!!

Partisan - my condolences on your very premature loss.

    We don't exactly know......

My SIL let Fox out to go potty...her sister (my wife) woke up about 5 mins. later........about 5 mins later my wife asked where fox was. They went outside and called for him....nothing.......my wife is now freaking out. So she tells my SIL (her sister) get in her SUV.....they are gonna go find him. They are just about to leave our driveway and my wife see's something.....she hop's outta the passenger seat and charges toward.....well I'm sure you get it. She found our puppers, lying there......she gave him CPR......

...I don't really wanna go on with detailes.....

I know he wasn't hit by a vehicle.......'cuz the girls put him in my wife's SUV, and when I got home I immediately ran to his side.......

I almost got mad/angry.....to the point my Irish and Greek tenacity was gonna take it out on the both of 'em (as if they did it on purpose)......

Shit, none of this is making sense is it?!?!?!

I'm sorry.....I'm looking at an empty collar with tags right now...........

Why did my puppers have to die

I understand you miss your pal, might have just had a problem in genetics.

Must of been something congenital, like a bad heart. I am saddened for your loss.

I am so sorry for your sadness... I know exactly how you feel. My best friend passed away a couple years ago (my Whippet of 14 years). Took me 2 years to find another one. This time I got two whippet puppy sisters that were actually born on my birthday... one of them died at 3 months.

Time will pass, it WILL get better... carry a picture of your friend around with you, it helped me.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It's hard losing a pet and with dogs it's easy to become attached in very little time because they have so much personality and respond to your affection. It will get easier to deal with, the first shock when someone or a pet dies is the worst but it will get easier to deal with, just don't take it out on someone close to you, that pain can last a life time.

Go out shooting, hit the heavy bag, do some high intensity exercises, or do something safe to let off tension, it always seems to help me when I'm stressed out or something like this happens.

Sorry Bro. I have found it's best to get back on the horse. There's another one out there that needs a home.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My German Shepherd died just before he turned 3 due to some kind of parasite. Sometimes you just never know. My other two mutts are still doing good. You want another dog, I'll give you one of mine.
I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.

Sorry guys....typing that last post of mine and seeing his collar and being drunk as fuck, hit me hard.

We are all pretty sure it was something congenital. I checked him from head to toe (and covered about 200 Ft. in every direction where they found him) and nothing was broken, no fur was missing, no blood, no vomit, no dirt in his fur (we live on a dirt road).

I really want to thank you guys for your support.....it means a helluva lot to me.

Except when it comes to our 4-legged "children".

In 2/07, I lost my GSH of 14 1/2 then in 2/10 (another February!!), my little golden girl (Springer/mutt mix) had a stroke at 15 1/2. For the first time in 30 years, I was "pet-less". I still am and I DON'T LIKE IT!!
I understand your emptiness. Hang in there buddy!
