    In short, Newt's a fag.

Well, I never planned on voting for Family Man Newt in the first place.

    Question;
Have you ever said anything positive about any president or candidate?

That said I wanted Cain to win the primary but he was assassinated so now I'll simply vote for whomever the R candidate is.
Not because I love that person(hell I don't even know who that person is yet) but because I think that ANY of the Republicans would do less damage to the country than Obama would in a second term.
Perhaps if we send another crop of Tea Party Senators and Congressmen to Washington this election said Republican President can reverse some of the damage done in the passed eight years.

'Course if you just want to sit on the sidelines and bitch about any and everything then that's helpful too.
This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.

He does seem rather fond of Obama and is quite content to see him serve a second term.

Now that you mention it though all of his vitriol seems to be aimed at the "Rethuglicans" as he calls them.

Constant bitching about Dubya or Reagan, but I don't recall him ever having a bad word to say about Clinton or Carter or Obama for that matter.

For the record I despise Obama, Carter and the Clinton but also Dubya and McCain among a loooong list.

Looking to 2012, I'm searching for the candidate that will be least destructive and that damn sure is not Newt and may be a gridlocked Barry though I could never vote for Barry.

I remember complimenting Eisenhower for the Interstate Highway system

I no longer have even a shred of belief that will happen

So basically you hate everyone who has ever been or ever wanted to be president?

So the answer to Sidartha's question is "no" then?

That's all well and dandy but isn't hoping he gets re-elected and trashing anyone who opposes him basically the same as a vote for him?

Not even close to the same thing. Further, I do not yet hope Barry is re-elected.....unless Newt is the candidate.

    Nope.

I'm glad you felt like contributing something worthwhile to the thread.

I've given up on my perfect candidate being elected.
For the record my perfect candidate is someone who shrinks government, respects my personal freedom to the utmost extent and does not attempt to legislate morality based on his religion.

Now I realize that every candidate is a compromise with the rest of the public and I can't get my way all the time.
So I will have to make a choice come Nov 4th.
    Which of the candidates;
    A) will be best for the country?
    A) can win the election.
No matter how hard anyone wishes, the country will not elect a Libertarian or a Green or Ron Paul.
Right now I think any of the remaining R candidates will be better than Obama and they have the best chance of being elected.
You can choose whom to vote for in the primary according to your own criteria, but when the general comes along you better vote.
Because if you get all butthurt because your preferred pick didn't win and you're just going to stay home rather than vote for (____) then you help Obama win.

If you let these sort of divide and conquer tactics work on you then they win.
Any vote not cast for a Republican in this election is the same as a vote for Obama.

I know there are allot of Libertarians on this board and I count myself among them but we gotta face facts, as long as the media and the two parties keep us out of the election process then we'll never win.
This election is too important to throw you're vote away on a dream or an ideal.

Short version for the reading impaired:
Get out there and vote your guy in the primary.
If your guy loses then suck it the fuck up and vote for the winner in the general.
Because the consequences of another Obama term is too horrible to allow
This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.

The unfounded HOPE of many simply delays the inevitable and continues to weaken us.

You may continue to HOPE of course but Hope will not bring a solution.

I'm with Wart on this one. WE are well past the point of any "normal" solution, Americans are simply to fat, dumb, and lazy to support anything that will make them uncomfortable.

Now we must start thinking outside the box.

How can I comment on your post except to say show your work.
You post a couple of rather generic statements yet you don't provide a link to the alleged comments so we can see the context they were made in or if they were made at all.
You posted a drive by attack on a man without bothering to show that your comments have any basis in fact.
The fact that you're still commenting in the thread is all that keeps you from being labeled a troll.

If you have a coherent thought in your head then you should take the time to put it down in complete sentences, not as a series of bullet points before tottering off to poop somewhere else.

Is that enough attention paid to you and your post?
Can we get back to discussing the election now?
This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.

Oh I don't know as I'm qualified to answer.

I'm not a "Newt lover", an apologist perhaps but frankly I don't like the guy much myself but if he's the candidate running against Obama I'll back him 100%.

Same if it's Romney or Paul, Santorum, Cain,Trump, an old yellow dog or Satan himself.

Gridlocked or not Obama in his second term will be the worst possible thing that ever happened to this country.

If you're one of those people who's lost all hope in America and just want it all to come crashing down as soon as possible, then yeah Obama's da man!

However I still believe in the American dream passed on to me and the same one I want to pass on to my children and it's not gonna happen with four more years of Obama as our leader.

    Will Newt be any better???

    Who knows?

    Yes no maybe so.

But we know for sure what we will get from Obama and he won't be worrying about kissing ass to get re-elected this time around.
