Close Mark. It is a cartridge in a bare tree.

    Lupe posted this awhile back.

We have the tree in the house, as soon as we eat and the wife gets home we are going to decorate.

As a fan of puns. Well just a way to remember a former member.

    yes he did

    Take a look at this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wcpt83YEJQ

    By Roy:
    The Black Rose

    I enter the party
    With my black rose
    Drunk on sorrow
    Everyone I speak too
    Mentions the rose
When they do I hear of
The sorrow that has been theirs
We all share the black rose
    But I am carrying it
And they want to have a good time
    It is a party
And everyone came as they are
The more people I talk to
    The drunker I become
The rose smells of nothing of loss
I offer the fragrance to everyone
    Many enjoy it
    I become drunker
One lady is dressed in black
    She is from California
She says after smelling the rose
    You wear your black differently
    Still you wear it
After this I am so drunk
    I cannot speak
    I leave in the middle
    Of a conversation
    Going nowhere
    It takes all my strength
    To carry the rose
    From person to person
I weave offering my black rose
I wonder if there was a time
    Before the black rose
    I am carrying the rose
    Because it is my turn
    The petals now
    Are dropping off and some
    Are stooping and collecting them
    They are surprised
How heavy they are as they put
    Them in their pockets
    Or...........near their hearts

I was thinking that instead of it being a Duglas Fir, it was a Radway Green.

We don't put up live trees. I'm not a "tree hugger", but I think it's wrong to chop down a living thing for a decoration and then throw it away when it's dead and dried out.

And the x39 may be corrosive... don't know. But I do know that it has a TUNGSTEN core in the bullet! (as do hundreds of his brothers and sisters in the ammo box).

Actually, it only has a mild steel core. It it was tungsten, it would be armor piercing and the tip would be painted to mark it as such.

Well, I took a few apart and melted the lead out of the bullets. There is an insert inside that it dark gray - almost black - but cleans up shiny.

I tested it on a grinding wheel. It produced very weak, dim yellowish sparks (tungsten).

    The insert is very heavy.

Last test... I heated it white hot... it ignited in the air and produced a thick white smoke... another sign of tungsten.

I can tell you the headstamp numbers if you don't believe it... look it up.
