Christmas trouble on the Korean border

The South Koreans erected a 100 ft Christmas tree on the border to which the North Koreans got pissed about and threaten to bomb, in response the SK's plan to erect two more.

South thumbing their noses at the North now that their "fearless leader" is no longer among the living.

Ordinarily it would be expected of Kim Jong Un to do something provocative in order to demonstrate that he is in control, but since NK shelled Yeonpyeong island, SK isn't going to tolerate any nonsense. They wanted to respond to the shelling militarily, but by the time they had made that decision, they had waited too long. They have been trying to provoke NK into doing something stupid ever since, so they can make an example of some NK targets.

He'll handle SK just like his dad handled Hans Blix.

I know that the Chinese offensive of the Korean War happened during Thanksgiving.... but still, I get that 'creepy feeling' whenever something provocative and strange happens in Korea around this time of year. This time more so.

I sure hope the SKs will mop the floor with the NKs. If there is ANY government that needs a regime change, it's NK.

In a way I agree with you, but on the other hand a whole lot of civilians could get seriously damaged. SK has to have at least twice the population that it had in the early 50s.
