    Saab no more.

Saab Automobile, the quirky Swedish automaker that liked to advertise its heritage as a fighter jet producer, filed for bankruptcy Monday, ending a two-year effort to revive the business after it was spun off by General Motors Co.

"Some enthusiasts in the U.S. will lament its end," said Aaron Bragman, an analyst with IHS Automotive. "Back in the 1970s and 1980s it was an innovative brand with some unusual power trains. They did turbocharging of small engines long before others did. The cars also had all-weather, good-handling capability."

So sad. I told many friends that GM buying SAAB was the mark of death for them.

Saabs might have been considered odd at the time, but they were ahead of their time and were built like tanks. I had the privilege of rallying a 99 a long time ago, quite a rewarding experience.

Too bad nobody is stepping up to revive them even as just a specialty car line, but these days the idea of low rate production is impossible due to too many regulations required because people believe that cars should protect them from themselves.

Shall i pick the low lying fruit about what their executives are probably doing about losing their juicy paychecks?

It always repeats itself and it never fails that something will go horribly wrong along the way.

Direct democracy is a gang rape. Eight men vote to rape one woman and the woman has to accept it because the majority decided that it was ok. A constitutional republic on the other hand is eight men and one woman with a full mag. Think about it for a while until it hurts your head.
