Uh, now how are we Republicans racist and sexist, again?

By We, I'm not speaking for all of Gunsnet. Gunsnet members all have varied political affiliations and viewpoints.

I mean, "we" as in I am a self pronounced Partisan Republican. At least I'm honest about it.

But I heard AGAIN, the same quip from a liberal that Republicans were both Sexist and Racist, which is why they don't like Obama.

I immediately thought to the recent past.

    1) A woman named Sarah Palin created some of the most excitement i've seen in a long time. Sure she rose and fell and has some baggage, but that had NOTHING to do with her gender. Republicans who were thrilled with her cared not one bit about her being a woman.

    2) Another woman later named Michele Bachmann started making waves. Again she garnered a lot of support early, but fell later, due to the fact that she couldn't galvanize core GOP voters the same way another candidate did who was ....

    3) a BLACK man named Herman Cain, who was plain spoken and had a plan. Sure his own baggage did him in, but again, he was popular, well liked and a rising star in the Republican political circles. The charges of sexual harassment against him, despite making someone a celebrity with DEMOCRATS (think Clinton), doesn't fly with Republicans.

    4) So now we hear about someone who might throw their hat into the ring for V.P., Condoleeza Rice who is both BLACK and a WOMAN. Again, I've seen nothing but effusive praise for her from conservatives, Republicans and some Libertarians.

Seeing all of this over the past 18 months, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the notion that Republicans are somehow Racist and Sexist. Since being any of those means that you'd dismiss or be against someone, even someone who held YOUR beliefs if they were of the 'wrong race' or 'gender'......

One can argue all they want if the GOP is wrong, or misguided on policy or strategies. But the Racist/Sexist charge is just such bullshit that I can't even fathom how people can throw it as a blanket statement like the Liberals do....

    Cool

Funny you should mention Sarah Palin and Herman Cain, the former who is a total anti-feminist who loathes women's rights and the latter who says the vast majority of African Americans are "brainwashed." I guess sexism and racism are okay if its a woman and racial minority leading the charge, which is why I suspect so many Republicans adored them. (They said what many middle-aged white men wanted to say, but couldn't.)

Bottom line is, over 90% of all blacks vote against Republicans, over 70% of Hispanics, and most women. Indeed, the only group that consistently votes Republican are middle-aged white men. Go figure.

Wow, the liberal propaganda that you spew is astonishing. Forgot that I risked hearing from the likes of you when I posted Oh well, You can repeat the bullshit propaganda all you want. I was just saying that I can't wrap my head around that sort of idiotic thinking. Which pretty much means, the way YOU think as well.

Well, just tell me if anything I said isn't true, regarding those statistics.

I just think its funny how the Republicans think they can put up a few token women or token racial minorities and somehow dispel this notion that the are predominantly a party of disgruntled middle-aged white men.

The biggest threat to the Republican Party is the fact that racial demographics are changing in this country. Hispanic voters alone are a big reason the Republicans are so weak in your home state of California and the southwest in general. They were pivotal in defeating Sharon Angle in Nevada and helping re-elect Harry Reid.

Indeed, the smartest thing Republicans could do in picking a vice presidential candidate would be to pick someone like Marco Rubio, a token Hispanic, to try to steal some of the Hispanic votes back from the Democrats.

You're such a douchebag. And you're verbose to boot! I never met a libtard who didn't expound on a point (even when their point was based on distortions of reality) endlessly. I think it's a libtard technique to wear your opponents down through incessant talking (or in this case writing). Sure you state things which are technically true, but it is your overall INTERPRETATION of the events which is idiotic.

So Palin is anti-woman because she thinks its murder to kill your children, and Cain is anti-black because he thinks the black culture is stuck in a rut and is capable of so much more?

Yep, funny it would be, if it were not so tragic.

No, it's only okay if it's the left leading the charge...the left gets a pass on any sexism/racism/anti-semitism charges, only because they're portrayed as being so against such stances...the fact that they epitome all of those when the individual leans to the right proves it.

I just think it's funny how the left can continue to espouse the blatant denigration of humans under the yoke of totalitarianism and repeatedly state it will set us free. Such blind adherence to a system that has failed in every case (while capitalism has created the abundance we have today) is not only stupid (your forte in arms) but idiocy in the extreme.

To deny that capitalism has raised the bar on every endeavor of humanity and that socialism hasn't closed the door to the same is not only foolish, but it fails to examine history and advancement critically. That you're unable to examine history and advancement critically does not surprise me...given the partisan hack you are. That you're so bereft of critical thinking skills...does.

One would think someone as dedicated to humanity as you are would be capable of such reasoning...

But then, as the saying goes...you can't fix stupid.

Try the 2008 Exit Polls for starters: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/res...s/#val=USP00p1

95% of Blacks voted for Obama, 67% of Latinos, 62% of Asians, but only 43% of Whites.

56% of Women, only 49% of Men.

66% of those Aged 18-29, 54% of those Aged 30-39, 49% of those Aged 40-49, 50% of those Aged 50-64, 45% of those Aged 65+.

Seems expectations were high in the minority group, just wonder how much those said expectations have been tarnished?

It will be interesting to see what exit poll demographics in 2012 look like, as Obama has been a pretty big disappointment in many people's eyes.

A lot of it will hinge on voter turn-out. It's doubtful the racial dynamic will radically change, but if minorities and women don't feel motivated to show up, that will obviously hurt Obama.

Republicans always do better nationally on low-turnout scenarios. Because even though conservatives only make up about 30% of the electorate, they are usually pretty motivated to consistently show up and vote.

While I strongly prefer capitalism, what you are saying simply isn't true. Who put the first satellite in orbit, who put the first man in space, who made the first jet powered aircraft, or the first real weaponized rocket?

Most of the major advances weren't actually the product of capitalism, but the product of war.

As to the topic, hate to say it but I tend to see and hear much more racism and sexism from conservative types. We've certainly had more than our fair share of racist posts on this forum.

Politically the vast majority of Americans of African Ancestry ARE brainwashed. Churches are very important in the brainwashing scheme and the Dimocrats have many of the more important black churches on the pad.

You do realize that the Soviets and Nazis did all these things at the expense of their people-- in the case of the Nazis, complete lack of freedom and eventually a brutal defeat in a war that they didn't have the resources to win... in the case of the Soviets, it cost their people the right to decent housing, enough to eat, and their own oppressive dictatorship? America has been able to accomplish great technological advances AND provide her people with an unparallelled standard of living, plus a level of freedom-- even in this day and age-- that is unparallelled in the world.

Capitalism can be cruel sometimes, but it is the greatest engine for wealth creation ever devised, and tends more than any other system to distribute its fruits in the fairest-- NOT the most equitable-- way.

LAGC, the ones who cry racist are usually the biggest racists of all. Being "anti-feminist" doesn't make you against women and I agree that blacks, for the most part, have been brain washed, by the left.
