In 1990 Cicero's "black" population had ballooned to 173 or .3%.

Yes, we have very organized communities. Here is one I heard today.

Are you really that simple? Outside of the collar counties around Cook County and Springfield the states people are just the same as any other state. What the dickens is the matter with you?

In fact most of Chicago is the same as any other city with people working to support their family, pay their bills send kids to school, their kids go to church or the scouts, go to movies, lie to their parents and get away with whatever they can just like every kid in every town and every city in the country. Don't mistake the druggies, whores, gangstas, corrupt unions and crooked politicians with the normal people. They are just trying to make a living the best they know how like you and me.

Now you know why it is shotgun only in most of the state. If they want to hunt with rifles they have to come up here. Blame the poor on the depressed market for agricultural products. Large corporate farms don't trade locally like the small farmers did and small town America is drying up. The railroads didn't have an excuse to stop at the towns any ore and with most people having to drive to the nearest city for work that is where they shop too. Small mom and pop stores are going down the tubes because of lack of trade.

Ever hear of Alexander Pantages? He was a classic self-made immigrant, coming here from Greece with nothing and eventually building a highly successful vaudeville circuit on the West coast-- there are still plenty of historic theatres in Cali and the NW bearing the "Pantages" marquee today.

Anyway, in the late 20's Joe Kennedy and his cronies were trying to corner the movie industry by creating both vertical and horizontal monopolies, and were able to acquire the Keith-Albee-Orpheum chain and Radio Pictures, which they renamed RKO (Radio-Keith-Orpheum). To complete their plan they needed to buy the Pantages chain, and offered Alexander a generous sum. He wanted to keep his business, and turned them down.

Lo and behold, a few weeks later a 17 year old girl arrives at Pantages' office, takes her clothes off, and throws herself at him. Within seconds cops burst in on a "tip", as do some reporters. Pantages is put on trial for the rape of a minor and convicted. He had the conviction overturned on appeal, introducing evidence, excluded at the first trial, that the girl was basically a whore, and that it was likely she had been planted by "business rivals" to ruin him. But by then he had indeed been ruined. The damage was done, and he sold off his theatre chain to Old Joe for a fraction of what Kennedy had originally offered. He died a broken, bitter man.

Basically Joe Kennedy completely destroyed a man's life on a whim in order to drive ahead his business interests. This is the man who nurtured and educated JFK, and helped him to grow into the man he became.

Kennedy and his rat pack of crony capitalist fixed the stock of Libby-Owens-Ford and more than once. Of course Kennedy made a fortune as a smuggler during prohibition .

Seems to me what is really important is Roosevelt, who had to know what Joe Kennedy really was all about, appointed him as Ambassador to Great Britain at perhaps the most crucial time in British and American history since the Revolutionary War. Gives us a window into the TRUE Roosevelt.
