    Illinois.....HIGHLY Ranked.....

It's gotta be tough for New York and California trying to compete with a powerhouse like Illinois !!

    Wart

Compared to the rest of the country we have lost 1/4th of our population.

Illinois just sold still more bonds and our credit rating is so bad we pay higher interest rates than junk bonds! Junk Bonds!

    Illinois is ranked

    50th for fiscal policy

    47th in job creation

    1st in unfunded pension liabilities

    2nd largest budget deficit

    1st in failing schools.

    1st in bonded indebtedness

Highest sales tax in the nation

Most judges indicted (Operations Greylord and Gambat)

5 of our last 9 elected governors have been indicted. That is more than the other 49 states added together!

Then add 32 Chicago Aldermen and (according to the Chicago Tribune) over 1000 state and municipal employees indicted.
The corruption tax is a real cost of doing business. We are the butt of jokes for stand up comics.

We live in the most corrupt big city, in the most corrupt big county in the most corrupt state in America. I am sick and tired of subsidizing crooks. A day rarely passes without an article about the corruption and incompetence. Chicago even got caught rigging the tests to hire police and fire!

Yes, we have very organized communities. Here is one I heard today.

An illegal alien, a Muslim, a member of the "Black Power Movement ", and a Socialist walk into a bar. The bartender says "What can I get for you Mr. President?"

If he had been a Republican and his drug use and womanizing had gotten out to the general public he wouldn't have even made the ticket. He said and did a lot of good things and mostly he was a good executive but I'm still holding a grudge over the Bay of Pigs and I'm not awful happy with the way we got sucked slowly into Viet Nam. If we were going to go to war we should have gone in with everything we had, broke things, killed a few people broke the command structure of the North Vietnamese Communist regime and got the hell out of there. I'm not real big on limited wars without a firm objective.

There are four people on my 'hate' list. Jack Kennedy is number one.

Please elaborate. I sort of thought the dem party of the 50s and 60s was a bit more conservative or at least pro-USA than what we see today.

A bit longer but still vastly incomplete version.

Kennedy was also the president who allowed federal workers to unionize.
(Prior, only the state of Wisconsin allowed state employees to unionize. After the Fed was allowed to become a part of organized labor, many more states felt comfortable in following the example of the Federal government and the unions flourished.)

Kennedy's weakness gave Khrushchev the idea he could put nukes in Cuba. (There was a summit in Austria between Kennedy and Khrushchev and Kennedy didn't even have a prepared agenda. Khrushchev, ever the wily Russian peasant, made Kennedy for a smart, rich, dilettante with little real world experience. Kennedy had also dated an East German spy.)

The whole Bay of Pigs fiasco was Kennedy's.

The old man - Joe Kennedy - was a part of organized crime and bought Cook County, Illinois from the Mafia while Johnson delivered enough voter fraud in Texas to give Kennedy the presidency.

Old Joe was a true renaissance dirt bag and a Nazi. He even took his whores to his home. Good training for Jack and Bobby and Teddy. Joe was also an asshole buddy of FDR. However renaissance Joe was also a Nazi and had to be re-called by Roosevelt from his position as US Ambassador to the Court of St. James (Great Britain.)

There was a deal between Joe and the Mob as mentioned above. Joe reneged on the deal by putting Bobby in as Jack's Attorney General and turning him lose on organized crime.......attack and don't pay. Elements of the Mafia, CIA, Secret Service and more hated Jack Kennedy.......not the entire Secret Service or CIA mind you. Jack Kennedy was killed.

There's a lot more but this whole mess is convoluted. One of the Mafia Don's admitted on his death bed that he and two others had ordered Kennedy killed. Again, not the entire Mafia but elements.

TEN-32, hope this at least gives you some flavor.

Ohhhhhh.... Kennedy 'won' the popular vote by only about 115,000 votes even after all the ballot stuffing/stealing. Eisenhower basically told Nixon he could not protest the vote.

I didn't know all that history. Shitty corrupt business for sure. Pretty much set the stage for our current debacle.

I think that's right. Even FDR and his Communist henchman knew public unions should not be allowed. The Dim's were behind in the mid-term election and allowing unionization of Federal employess was seen as a way to raise more money and win an election.

How much money has that one act poured into the coffers of the Dims......and when you start counting the states that followed the Feds unionization........well never mind.

Good to hear it. Chicago must really be a Drain on the rest of the State.
