Under Peru's penal system, Van der Sloot could become eligible for parole after serving half of the sentence with good behavior, including work and study.

Ricardo Flores, the father of murdered Stephany Flores, is rich. I had been wondering if he would get Van Der Sloot out quickly and then have him killed or let him rot in prison for a while and then kill him.

Lots as if the Sloot will rot for at least a while.

Still no justice for the Holloway girl's family, but at least he's locked up!

Looking at him, there is nothing behind his eyes, no soul, no remorse.

I've heard some of those Peruvian prisons are real hell-holes, not the cozy retreats like most American prisons are with their (mostly) air-conditioned cells, cable T.V. with lots of channels, portable radios (and now MP3 players!), and indulgent commissary offerings that make you feel at home.

If they're anything like most Latin American prisons, its real easy to get full-length knives and even handguns smuggled in there. For the right price, I'm sure the dad could put a hit on him. $1000 goes a long way down there in those under-developed countries...
"That tyranny has all the vices both of democracy and oligarchy is evident. As of oligarchy so of tyranny, the end is wealth; (for by wealth only can the tyrant maintain either his guard or his luxury). Both mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms." -- Aristotle, Book V, 350 B.C.E

The article stated that he 'might' have a TV and game consol, then I would say an i-pod too. Remember, his daddy is wealthy.

Is this statement based on experience?

Daddy is dead. Mom seems to be finished with him.
