    Question SIG P6

Ran across one on Saturday, VG+ with a tag price of $399. Wideners has them for the same price with two mags and are calling them Excellent (of course there's shipping and FFL transfer on top of that.

IIRC these were around a few years ago at Gander Mountain and AIM Surplus as well as other places for $239-$269, something like that. Mriddick didn't you get a couple in that price range?

Anyway the only SIG I've spent much time with was an early import 226 and I didn't care for the grip on that one. This one, only an 8 shot, feels very good in the hand. While not exactly cheap enough for a truck gun I was thinking that $399 wasn't all that bad. What do you folks think with regards to price and the gun itself? TIA

P.S. CDNN has new factory 225 mags for $34. Any place have them cheaper? If it only comes with the one mag and I were to get it I'd like to add another 2-3 mags but I'm hoping they can be had for a little less.

I've been tempted to pick up two for the wife & I as CCW guns. I bought a surplus/trade in P226 years ago and have been very happy with it, but it is too large and thick to make a good CCW. Sig makes some of the best hand guns out the IMO.

I bought one years ago when they were selling for <$300. I carried it in the console of my ATV when I was way out in the woods. I loved it, bought it cheap and treated it like shit, but it was reasonably accurate and always reliable. I replaced it with a surplus Sig 220 a couple years ago but I kind of miss the more compact size.

I bought one as a gift for my buddy a couple years ago. I just shot it a few months ago - very accurate and feels great in the hand. I think they are a great pistol.

Seems like I saw somebody with P6's for cheaper a couple of months ago. I'd try AIM and CDNN first.

It's my understanding that this are former European police pistols that have been reconditioned from the factory.

Also, the biggest bitch I hear is that mags are hard to find, and expensive when you find them.

Good luck. I wish I could afford a new toy right now. Oh well, I'm still good to go with what I have.

Aim and CDNN don't show any. Widener's and CFS are the only places I've found them and they are both $399.

$400 for an all German SIG isn't bad at all.

For mags try Top Gun Supply.

I have 4 right now, one for me and one for each of the sons that wanted one I think only one was over $300. I've managed to collect 14 SIG mags for all at various shows as well. I had each of them a Bulgy Mak but sold them and moved to the SIG when the price of Mak's went up and you could pick up a P6 for about the same price. If the SIG's continue to go up I might move them up to SW M&P's. If I was close to any of you I'd make you a deal on them

I bought a 225 for 250 a few years ago. Can't beat it for carrying and that price. A guy I work with bought the P6 and it's almost identical. He loves his as well. The price has gone up a tad, but still, for a Sig, it's great. Plus, if you like, you can send back to Sig and have them do the tune up on it and install night sights for something like 120. Which, of course then makes it a 500 dollar gun, but it would basically be new.

I was given two of the pro mag magazines as Christmas gifts a few years back. As much as I despise pro mag, I must admit they fit and function perfect in my 225 and they worked in my buddies P6. Your results may vary.

But, in the end, I'd buy it, at that price in a heartbeat.
