Thread: Red Tails

I don't know how long Lucas has been trying to make Redtails, but I don't think the timing of the movie is an accident.

I bet it's as much about Obama's re-election as much as the T-Airmen. Hollywood is playing the race card, but using black history to support Obamanation's re-election.
Anybody remember that T.V. show "Commander in Chief", where a woman was president. That show was clearly Hillary's setup for a run at the presidency.

    Both failed thank God.

I'll probably see it, but it looks like the computer graphics are too much like a video game to be realistic.

I just caught a part of Oliver North's piece on the Red Tails on FOX. (NOT about the movie.)

The Red Tails returned to the US on ships as did most other WW II vets. As they went down the gangway, there was a sign at the bottom....COLORED one way and WHITES the other.

With the war over, German POW's could go in and have a beer on base with white Americans. 'Coloreds' could not.

I would have been one pissed off son-of-a-bitch.

REDSTAR's (Rick Peterburs) father was the famous P51 pilot who shot down a German Ace who flew the German Messerschmitt 262 in WWII. Rick posted several articles that talked about his father and the German jet he shot down on the older server.

Rick Peterburs father is Joseph (Joe) Peterburs. He also has a website: www.joepeterburs.com

You can read about his father on the website, his father has an awesome military history. Lots of pictures on his website. Check it out!

In 1979, after over 36 years of active duty, Colonel Peterburs retired. He is a Command Pilot, a Master Air Weapons Controller and an inductee into the USAF Air Weapons Controller Hall of Fame. His military decorations include: The Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross w/ 1 OLC, Bronze Star w/ 1 OLC, Purple Heart w/ 1 OLC, Air Medal w/ 7 OLC, POW Medal and 32 other medals and decorations.
Thanks for posting that. I miss Rick. His father is a true hero.

One of the biggest the turning points for the civil rights movement was when a black vets came home.

They fought the way (which a lot of Americans did) and made big progress for an integrated military, which led to an integrated US. So, they contributed double.

We would have won the war without this and lots of other units in the 1944-45 timeframe, our strength was overwhelming then.

They did lose bombers under escort, also.
