Newt is saying all the right things, right now that's for sure. His anger is playing right into where the Republican party is.

I'd have to get further into Tollfer, but at face value he is simply talking about changes from the information/technology age. We already have a world economy and the Internet, he discusses where it could take us. The end goal being a star trek like society where productivity is so high and energy is so abundant that anyone is free to pursue higher interests.

I seriously doubt that is achievable for a millennia with the cultural differences.
