Creepy new cult popping up in Australia.

This fellow is not as direct as Koresh, and Jim Jones yet he tends to use a more subtle approach like the "Heavens Gate" leaders. This fellow is a former Jehovah's Witness preacher who got caught with a prostitute. Sounds like they kicked him out and now he has people believing he is Jesus and his wife (13 years his junior) is Mary Magdalene.

Notice the amount of women following this guy? One of his tactics seems to be a mix of pop culture new age (mentioned by a critic in the video) with what appears to be a psychological onslaught of his victims. He has mastered the art of brainwashing. Yet, he seems smart enough to steer away from any deep theological or Biblical content, the opposite of Koresh. He also steers away from "over-hyping" the crowd, opposite of Jim Jones. Yet, his tactics for convincing people that he alone has the truth, to the point that they leave their families is something that he has obviously carried over from his JW days. So this cat has done his homework on how to be a successful whack job...just wondering where this group will be in 5 years. I wonder if his wife really believes in this stuff or if she is playing along to milk the donation box? Either way they have one heck of a scheme going. Sad to see so many fall for this.

Never mind Maimonides, it was better said long before: "For the time is coming when people will not endure sounda teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." (2 Tim 4:3-4)

Very true. Paul warns us of this very thing 2,000 years ago.
