    Polymer cased ammo almost here.

Couldn't find another thread for this stuff, so apologies if there is one and I missed it.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson

I had several boxes of the 5.56 polymer case, brass base ammo.... Pretty much stopped using it after my rifle tore the brass base off the polymer.

about 2 years ago I wound up getting a pile of the old polymer .223 for like $2 a box.

Took me hours to burn it all up due to double feeds and just the plain shittiness of it.

I had some a while back and ended up shooting it in my bolt action.

Maybe I should have put "next generation" in the title.

People have been trying to make polymer cased ammo for over 30 years. Someday they may actually get it right. Color me ... not running out to buy some. I'll wait and see what this attempt shakes out to be. Even so, I reload and unless it sells for less than my reloaded case price I'm not likely to buy it anyway.

pretty much my experience as well. the only thing that would feed it decently was bizzarely enough my craptastic mini-14. that thing would eat it all day long.

A while back I had some 100% polymer cased .38 spl (no brass base at all). It was fine but revolvers aren't exactly sensitive in that area. It's fine for plinking, but I doubt they could produce it cheap enough to make it worth not being able to reload the cases.

Perhaps not so "crap" hmmm? One of the great things about the mini's is their indiference towards ammo in terms of cycling.
