LOS ANGELES (AP) — Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

Nothing new and certainly not a surprise, she gave up to drugs a long time ago.


It was only a matter of time till it caught up to her. She was long past the time when she had stopped sucking out of the pipe and it had started sucking out of her. Eventually it sucks the very life right out of your body.

News this morning said she was partying hard the last 2 weeks before her death, a pharmacy of pills and drugs were found in her room, one of "entourage" found her in the bathtub face down.

Sad.... sounds a little remniscent of Michael Jackson (prescription drug problem), only she was into crack too. Cocaine in any form will take a toll on your heart.

sad but facts evryone over the age of 3 should know.
if our pretty much useless schools taught at least 1 thing,it should be the dangers of drug(legal or illegall)use.
all substance abuse really.
i had a friend that died of a heart attack last year...he was a standout b-ball player in highschool,track star..etc..lived 5 minutes from me the last 5 years,great friend and great guy.
always came over for morning coffe to chat before work but always smelled of booze..i couldnt figure how the hell he could drink like that and go to work in the morning.
well they found him dead last year in his bed..autopsy was heartattack(cod) but cocaine was found in his blood..what a shame.(50 years old)(2 sons and a daughter)
if i had known i would smacked him one :-(
to the sad news about this singer,all the money dont mean shit when your an addict..all the trips to rehab and still at her age..she wanted to die.
i had my close call when i was in my 20's,at a ski resort,did a bunch of that crap and drinking whiskey in the hot tub after skiing all day..would have drowned if not for my friend reviving me..never again.
i feel bad for her family,but not for her..she had alot of advice all that money buys,went to the best rehabs no doubt..yet continued..an intelligent person with her money had to know what was coming.
