    Regardless Oswald is right LAGC said something that is probably an exaggeration at best and you all bought it because you wanted to.

    Would a candidate say he's for strict enforce of existing porn laws, yes I bet he would, even obama would yet I doubt LAGC would say he's for "banning porn"...

    Former Senator Rick Santorum in a written statement: “Federal obscenity laws should be vigorously enforced. If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so. Limited Justice Department resources should be used to protect children and women from predators, not limited by state boundaries rather than to sue border states.”

    Former Governor Mitt Romney in a written statement: “(I)t is imperative that we cultivate the promotion of fundamental family values. This can be accomplished with increased parental involvement and enhanced supervision of our children. It includes strict enforcement of our nation’s obscenity laws, as well as the promotion of parental software controls that guard our children from Internet pornography.”

    Former Speaker Newt Gingrich in a face-to-face meeting: When asked by MIM staff if he will enforce existing laws that make much hard-core adult pornography illegal, he responded, “Yes, I will appoint an Attorney General who will enforce these laws.”

    None of these guys are talking about "banning porn". They are talking about strongly enforcing the laws on the books that help protect kids from it. Not banning it. This is like the typical response to "gun control" that GOP candidates always answer to. Its not that they advocate new laws, but just want to enforce the ones we already have.

    Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich walk into a bar.

    The bar tender looks up and says;

    "What is this? Some kind of joke?"

    They talked about helping law enforcement combat CHILD EXPLOITATION and CHILD PORN. Leave it to the LEFT to distort what they say.

    Back in 2000, the left wing gleefully implied that BUSH was going to run around town, grabbing every man's copy of PLAYBOY magazine out of his hands and set it on fire. I know. I was actually at a meeting where people claimed that was GOING TO HAPPEN. Didn't happen. Wasn't GOING to happen.

    In fact the most blatant censorship of the NET and PORN in recent history was under CLINTON. The internet decency act made tons of things illegal that would not otherwise be thought to be so. I noticed that NO ONE mentioned Clinton or the fact that the Internet Decency Act (or whatever it was officially titled) of 1996 was drafted by Democrats!!!!!

    No, that's not what they are talking about at all.

    Will you agree to vigorously prosecute illegal adult pornography if elected president? Federal obscenity laws prohibit distribution of hardcore “obscene” pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops, through the mail, and by common carrier. Pornography is causing great harm to America. It is causing addiction to children and adults and increasing violence against women. It is a contributing factor to sexual trafficking and causing an increase in child pornography. It is a leading cause of divorce and harming many marriages. Please tell me your position. Will you order your Attorney General to make adult obscenity prosecutions a priority?

    If you think those groups (Morality in Media) are only going after kiddie porn, you haven't been paying attention.

    They think REGULAR ADULT PORN is just as bad and corrosive to family values as kiddie porn is! They see no difference between the two!

    They are Christian Taliban trying to turn America into a fucking theocracy, just like Saudi Arabia or Iran where all pornography is illegal.

    And these three leading Republican candidates have signed on to their puritan agenda.
    "That tyranny has all the vices both of democracy and oligarchy is evident. As of oligarchy so of tyranny, the end is wealth; (for by wealth only can the tyrant maintain either his guard or his luxury). Both mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of their arms." -- Aristotle, Book V, 350 B.C.E
