He was right in that inner city blacks may HAVE guns, but they have no trigger discipline. They just spray and pray. Gang shootouts caught on tape prove this. They see no need to enhance their marksmanship skills. They think of guns as symbols of power and 'bling' ... not as tools. Not as a means to survive.

I wasn't offended by his rant. It was very eye opening. I don't agree about the RACE war part (like whites aren't on some sort of crazed eye mission to throw blacks into the 'ovens' like Nazi Germany), but his rant about how others are better prepared to defend themselves with guns is absolutely true. Any thug can pull a trigger. In a SHTF scenario, ammunition WILL become a scare commodity. those who stockpile or are very efficient with arms will win the day. Tactically, those elements about his rant made sense.

I get what your saying...but I think him wasting time on a "race war" lecture is kind of dated. This isn't the 60's. I think if he really wanted to help blacks out with gun education he could leave out the race war stuff and start with gun safety and gun rights. Then encourage them to take up responsible shooting sports, like clays, hunting or competition pistol shooting. Also have them trickle this knowledge down to their kids. The end result would be less crazy talk and better educated and more responsible inner city black gun owners.

But his rant is framed within the prism of a breakdown of society. And yes, I agree. White gun owners (and some other non black races) are better prepared for SHTF. MUCH BETTER. His point about blacks considering guns to be either status symbols or bling or thug weapons (like a club) rings absolutely true. They're about as effective as a Liberian militia.

But wait, I've celebrated during Italian American events. Irish American Events. The only reason there are not more is that white Europeans are so intermixed. Not so with other races.
So I've found that entire thing about "you're all American" , though true, also a bit dense, being that if the white population of America were NOT mixed, we'd have specific German-American, Polish American, Swedish American, etc..etc groups, functions and identities. As well.
The entire African American thing was to differentiate themselves from Haitian Americans or Jamaican Americans. When explained to me like that, it made sense.

My grandparents (whom I never knew) were all from Europe. My mother's dad was Italian, her mother German and my dad's parents both Polish (hence my name).
But both my parents were born in USA, I was born in USA. I am 100% American. I do not consider myself a "European" American. Hell I've never even BEEN to Europe.
I have no "ethnic pride" or "European pride" or "Polish pride". I only am proud to be an American-American.
I am SO FREAKIN SICK of "people with darker skin than I have" calling themselves "African" Americans, wearing pseudo African tribal style clothing and making up fake names like "Quatisha" or some crap like that. They even make up their own pseudo holidays like "Kwanza". WTF???
