Years ago, I told the mortgage lady that rates weren't going up and refused to lock it in. When I closed the mortgage, the interest rates had gone up ... ready for this ... from 8% to 13%. Thank you, Jimmy Carter!!

I remember those rates - good Lord. And we paid them. We figured it was still better than renting and throwing your money away... man.
