My refinished Saiga 12ga - this is one bad ass shotgun!

I had my S12 professionally refinished with a local gunsmith... the finish on this thing is immaculate! I've got some kind of door breecher muzzle brake I got from Mississippi Auto Arms, as well as the 8.5" Ace Skeleton Stock (with side folding mechanism)... that's a Chaos US extended quad rail and their HK sights Finally, she's sporting a magpul front grip, Tapco SAW pistol grip, Tromix trigger guard and an NC Star Reflex sight!

I am VERY impressed with the NC Star reflex sight... $60 bucks from rrages.com (thanks to Moe for the tip)... the sight is all metal, holds zero, also had red/green dual mode with 4 different reticals.

The MD Arms drum only takes 2 3/4" shells... even though the S&B 00 Buckshot shells are labeled 2 3/4", they do NOT fit in the MD Arms drum, but do fit in the 10 round AGP mags.

Even with MD Arms improved gas plug with 4 different settings, I cannot get this to cycle low brass ammo... some folks say they can open the gas ports a little and over gas it, but for me, I'll just stick with high brass... although 20 rounds in a drum for skeet would be fun

I'll answer questions later, gotta head out to shop with the wife on my day off, but wanted to get the pics up for y'all ASAP.

+1 on the SBS. That is one sweet S12, by the way. Got a parts list?

Seriously, is the rear site on backwards?

    Saiga 12 - Russian Armory $449
Chaos US Quad Rail $189 (now $99)
    Chaos US Hk Sights $85
    Talon BreacherBrake $69 http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/s...ack-p-889.html

Mississippi Auto Arms Conversion Kit $288 which includes:
    http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/s...ock-p-845.html
    Tromix Trigger Guard and Internals
    Tapco Saw Grip
ACE 8.5" folding stock with Mississippi Auto folding mechanism
    Screw Build Kit

Gunsmith Work to refinish and reassemble: $350

NC Star dual red/green with 4 reticles... $60
MD Arms 20 round Drum $160 bucks....

This is the first time I've added it up... sheesh! I've got about $1650 into this weapon... but I've been working on it for about a year now, so over time, maybe that's not too bad?

    Thanks Deth!

I just looked at my G3, you're right! Rear was backwards! I didn't even notice that!

Nice going, Mark!! Some of the other shotguns run better with high brass, as well.

Have you ran it with low brass without the quad rail?
If not, give it a try. You might have to open the ports, but have read that the
    rail was causeing an issue.

I don't see how the rail can be an issue? Its just a bolt on accessory and doesn't interfere with the gas system at all...

Before I had the shotty rebuilt, I did try running low brass through it... I even tried all 4 settings using MD Arms improved gas block and even the factory 2 setting gas block... I couldn't get it to run low brass at all. Even the S&B 2 3/4" medium brass won't cycle. I was shooting 3" Winchester Turkey loads (5 shot) and that works... that's what I used to shoot skeet with today Worked like a charm.

I've heard about opening the ports up a little.. seems like all you do is take dremel and just make the openings a hair bigger... I think I read that if you can see how much you opened the hole, then you did too much?

BTW... I wanted to give y'all a report on that NC Star Reflex Sight.... it held zero for a couple dozen shots (that's all I took).

But this is NOT a good sight for skeet shooting... with the weapon lowered, as soon as I pulled the shotgun up for a cheek weld, then I had to find the illuminated reticle in the sight, then I had to try and find the bird flying!

The only way I could use the sight to shoot the clay pigeons was to get a cheek weld first and already acquire the sighting reticle, then lower my shotgun down, then when I called "pull" I already had the sight to track the flying bird.

I wouldn't recommend this sight for skeet... but, it would be awesome for sweeping and clearing a house.

Who did you get the chaos rail from? Looks great by the way

That is an awesome looking Saiga 12ga. I really like those guns and would like to add one to my growing collection of guns.

The mags are they hard to find and what are the prices?

I looked at a .308 Saiga but the mags made me pause due to the price. I did find an L1A1 that I bought and now wanting a Saiga of some kind.

The only thing I plan in future is an SBS...

Mags are abundant, but price... $40-50 bucks... but you can get the drum for $99 now on gunbroker.
