The "more" that you pay is actually a tiny portion of the actual risk you take. As with all insurance it's spread over many people. Some people will cost the system more, others will pay more than they take. That's the nature of insurance.

Nor does it account for things like 2nd hand smoke. Or any number of other "life choices" that may effect your or other peoples health and raise everyone's rates.

Should we stop paying for married women to give birth as well? After all why should her decision to have a kid effect my rates?
