Smile Say hello to our newest family member...

Well, we decided that since we're moving to the country that we need a couple pups to hang out there... My wife saw this guy in a local free paper as the feature pound pup.

We went and took a look and he well, stuck

They told us he's half lab and half wire haired terrier... but we think he's got some pit in him too most probably. He's very well manored and loves to play ball. He's very stout - about 80 lb.s.. He was in the pound for about three weeks. They told us that people want puppies... he's 3 years old, so not so desirable. Well, he seems to be perfect for us...

He got a hair cut and a flea bath after getting home. So it starts....

He's pretty cool. He stood on the table getting his hair clippered for over half an hour and then the bath... and was ready to play ball after all of that. He's fast! Remarkably so considering how stout he is.

Best of all, he really seems to like my wife, which is great.

Thanks. He seems like a happy camper. I'm takin him to the vet tomorrow - rabbies vac and also a worming (I'm taking a stool sample with -he's had loose stool and we saw some blood - worms!). He had fleas on him too... the pound is overwhelmed with dogs and under funded - both of my boys did their Eagle projects there to help out. They now have a nice deck in front of two of the buildings (no more mucking around in the mud) and an "adoption yard" where people can take the dogs and cats to spend time with them before making a decision....

I think he's gonna love Mississippi. We're going over spring break in a week and will probably take him with...

Good looking pup there OSOK. He should do you proud around the new place. I bet he's hell on Mice and other pest types, and may do really well with Rabbits and such too.

Thanks and yeah, he can sit, stay, shake and such. Obviously somebody put some time in with him. I hope he was left due to economic problems... and not just lost. Regardless, we'll take good care of him.

I guess that's also part of getting a pound pup...

And he'll have plenty of varmints to mess with in Mississippi... fo sho.
