Interesting... the statement about silver vs gold values.

In a shtf environment, who is going to be able to make change for gold used in lesser transactions? I can see gold being used for major purchases like buying up homes, city blocks, industrial empires, but not for a loaf of bread or a chicken or some ammo.
Speaking of the pig nations and default, today is said to be the day for Greece to default.
I think bullets would make a good exchange too.
Then.... I'm rich!

Yeah... I don't know what to think. But I must agree that silver will be much easier to use as a currency than gold. Even if an ouce goes to $100, you can still "break" that amount much easier than say something that's $500 like a small gold coin.

I agree on that one!
Dirt, bunker, beans and bullets... and some silver in case you want to buy some beer or something

Our lead free solder that we use in our Rohs compliant products has a 3% silver content and you will find that as more of the high tech industry is needing to meet Rohs "lead free" compliance in their electronics components that more silver will be utilized just in electronic manufacturing alone. I think we pay $65 for a spool of solder. Imagine what a wave solder ingot must cost.
Trying to get on the no fly list, one post at a time.
Speaking of solder, silver solder is my preferred (electronics) solder. Far stronger than tin/lead. Doesn't heat stress, flows well. Great stuff but at a price as you know.
