    55 gallon food grade drums

Anyone have any ideas about getting these cheap? I have been looking high and low for a nearby source to no avail. My next step is calling a cheese house or soda bottler and asking them..

any thoughts? I have a few hundred pounds of rolled oats I need to store.

I did a search for them but I don't want to pay for shipping. I was just thinking of a place that I can get them for next to nothing and power wash them out @ home.

Even so on used drums I'd use a food grade barrel liner.

do check with the local soda bottlers around your area. they might have some 55 gal for sale, but probably more of the 30's/20 gal. also, check with the bakeries, they might sell their 5 gal with lids. i get mine from the bakery at wally world for only $2 ea w/lids.

Check with the local airport FBO. They use 55 gallon drums of soap for washing the aircraft. Depending on the FBO, you might be able to get them for free, or a small charge.

Needless to say, you can also store water in them. These 55 gallon drums are not made of steel.

I was offered six of these drums for free, but I forgot to come back for them with my truck. Someone who was more on the ball got them.

The last time I bought a blue 55gl water container was in 1999 (still have and use it). I bought it at the garden center of the local super WallyMart.
