You have linked a blank page it seems. That said, jeeze I wish they would replace the M16 family with something better.

And because of the Remington contract it appears Colt is taking a hit financially.

I was going to say maybe they'll actually sell stuff to civilians again but nah I see they are already talking about going for International contracts. I have not been impressed with Colt's quality on AR / M16 platform weapons since I got my first one in 1994. I think almost any other maker does a better job on fit quality than Colt.

I've heard the same thing about their quality on the 1911's that they make

Hence the probable reason they did'nt get the contract.

Colt wins first battle in blocking Remington from supplying Army with M4 carbines

    08.21.2012
    Story by: Max Slowik

Colt Defense filed a complaint with the Government Accountability Office protesting the $84 million contract awarded to Remington Defense to be the primary supplier or M4 carbines to the U.S. Army starting September next year with an order for 24,000 rifles. This means that the Army will have to address the concerns of the GAO or stand before Congress in defense of the contract.

In their complaint, Colt stated that the Army did not adequate evaluate the prices of the bids put forth by Remington's competition—FNH USA and of course, Colt. Colt has been the primary supplier of rifles to the Army since 1967.

The day I found that my Colt HBar had an all plastic buffer and that the piece of crap buffer had a mold hole in it at a place that would permit it to capture the buffer retaining pin was the day they sold me my last colt of any kind.

Why are you so down on Colt's? The new Colt M4's are high quality and very well made, I was reluctant at first, but after getting one and firing 120 rounds to test it, I was hooked! Did I pay for the name, Yes! Do I feel like I paid too much, No! I'm very pleased with their product.
I sold all my guns and ammo, now I live the quiet retired life.

The Remington .45's use cast frames, instead of machined billets.

Reading comprehension issues? My post says why I'm down on them, low quality. I have yet to get my hands on a tight Colt AR, not that I've looked since 2005. If you can grab the upper and see-saw it side to side or lift up on the carry handle or charging handle and see the gap open up between upper and lower, this is what I'm talking about. Also factor in that Colt was sucking up to the antigunners and removed the bayonet lugs off their rifles before 1994 assualt weapon ban and they blocked their receivers to.
