Let's say......
The shtf happens and you hunker down.
After about a month later, for whatever reason you're forced to jumpship/leave.
1. How do you get away?
2. Do you plan to come back?
3. What do you do next?

"PLAN B !"
If you don't have a running vehicle, you are in bad shape. Not only does it give you a vast carrying capacity the speed and having a box of steel around you offers a lot of protection.
If you have to take off from home on foot a dolly with gear strapped to it will increase the amount of stuff you can take but will slow you down and make you stick out. One of those high sided, inflated tire wagons from a country/farm store may be a very handy item. Replace tires with hard plastic if worried about punctures.
Coming back can be problematic at best. It is likely someone else will move in and fortify. Don't expect a return to be easy.
Good point, Moe! Never gave Plan B a thought. We are planning to hunker down and try to ride things out. We'll now give Plan B some thought. Thanks!
Get away to .......... where? How will that place be any better than where you are?
Maybe the wind changed there could have been a forest fire or a flood some times you just gotta move.
