Knock the plastic tip off and they will fit in the mag and shoot better than most Mil spec tips test a few.

Never thought of it!I think it basically look like the 75 grainer with a plastic tip anyway.I will try that. Thanks

OK well it looks like you can cut it off but will not pull out but looks like it will be real close after seating the bullet.
    Worth a shot.

I was thinking you can heat a butter knife on the stove then use a pliers to press the tip down on the heated surface . should make a good flat point.

Have not shot any yet but after taking the tips off some I had already loaded and will work.
Just need to see how they fly.
Looks like I will keep them.

I pulled my 75grAmax because they didnt fit in the mag but most of the tips broke when I pulled them. They shattered and just left a tiny bit in the tip ....they shot ok, not great id say as good as the pulled 62gr ss109 I bought from some guy on arfcom....

Hi, did you trade these off yet? Have Hornady 55gr FMJ BT and am looking for a heavier bullet for my single shot.

Any interest in Hornady 55gr FMJ-BT? I've been using the 75gr in my Savage LRPV and can always use them. The Hornady 55gr stuff shoots fine out of my AR out thru 600. Will trade 600 of the 55gr for your 474 Amaxs.

Thanks for the reply, I can't send PMs due to being a new member and not having enough posts.

I like to stay above 60gr for my 1:7 twist but for reduced loads and closer shooting 55 works OK.Your offer works for me.

I got a note from shotdown61 that he received my bullets and I got his today so this deal went thru perfectly. We both sent them out after the deal was made and we received them both the same time. Guess that shows how good our USPS works

Anyway, anyone having any dealings with shotdown61 I can state that he's one of the honorable ones and I'd have no problems dealing with him again.
