Question Fantasy list of weapons you can actually afford....

I'm just curious what people may be saving up for here and there.

Everybody has a fantasy list of some sort....but I thought it may be more interesting to see what people have on their list that falls within the realm of actual possibility for them.

My list has a handful of items I could afford, but only (1) at a time over a long period of time. Picking which one to get first is always the hard part.

    Ruger GP-100 6" .357 Magnum:

    Henry .22LR collapsible survival rifle:

    Mossberg 930 12ga Shotgun:

    Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm:

And maybe a Crossbow just for shits & grins:

I realize that none of these weapons fall into the way uber-cool awesome category.
But then, these days, one must start to eventually become realistic.

(Yeah... it's a short list. I can't afford squat right now. Saving for a new truck so I can buy American and NOT finance. )

    Wow.
I can't imagine paying to feed that thing.

On the other hand, I was a trainer on the M2 for quite a few years.
It's one of my favorite weapons.

What does a semi-auto version go for $?

Nothin' wrong with paying off a vehicle.
    Ya gotta have priorities.
    Smart move.

About $8K or so... Seen some specials lately where you get the triipod & linker with wood crate included for around there. Would love to have one but I think I'll end up buying some heavy equipment I can "go Gault" with first...

    $8k ?
Geeze. My wife would kill me.
    Then she would leave me.
    Then she'd come back.
Just so she could resurrect me.
    Then kill me again.

Here are a few holes in my collection from the cheapest to most expensive:

    PSL
.357 or .44 magnum lever gun
.357 and .44 magnum revolver, probably a stainless GP100 and Super Redhawk. Wouldn't rule out something from S&W.
8mm semi auto of some sort, maybe an FN49, Hakim, or custom rebarreled M1 Garand
    Sig 556
    AUG Clone
That new .308 Kel Tec bullpup
.50 BMG. A Barrett M82 would be the best of course, but I would be happy with a single shot.
    Sig AMT and/or PE57
Something full auto, maybe an UZI.

If I really wanted, I probably could afford any one of them. The more expensive ones on the list would be a stretch though. It would also bring my reserves lower than I would like. I spent a bunch at the CMP over the past few months buying some more Garands and a lot of ammo, so I think I need to lay off the gun spending for awhile.

Yes. I know what you mean.
In all honesty, I'd be better off to just pick (1) thing off my list for now and then stock up on more and more ammo.

    I've never shot one though.

I have a second story porch that has a great view from our hill. I'd like to get one on a tripod as a MG placement for unwanted guests.

The problem isn't buying the weapon...It's feeding it that I can't afford.

I think Linx has one as well as a few other members here...

Also...I know they make a 7.62x39 and a 7.62x54 kit for these...Quite possibly other calibers as well..

Hmmmm. Where to begin? In no particular order:

    1. Already have a SA Garand. Getting the other makers would be awesome.
    2. M1 Carbine(s)
    3. M1 Thompson (Will most like always be out of my price range, but how knows, plus gotta move to another State first.)
    4. M3 Grease Gun (Same as Thompson).
    5. Any of the WWII made 1911s
    6. 1903A3 Springfield (ones at AIM are verrrry tempting, especially with my C&R )
    7. SA SOCOM II
    8. one of DSA's OSW FN FALs
    9. Ciappa Arms or GSG .22lr 1911
    10. XD(m) .45
    11. Robarm XCR (ya ya, he's a tool, but the XCR has capabilities I want, and does it cheaper than ACR)
    12. AK of some type, or 2, or 3, etc.
    13. nice bolt action Savage or Remy in .308, something like swampy's
    14. Kel-Tec's .308 RFB

Wow, my list is longer than I thought...and I even left out a few. 6 and up are doable, just gonna be one or the other type of thing. Sigh, fantasy indeed.

The only 308 I own is my Savage bolt rifle.
Even that ammo is expensive these days too..,even when going by the one shot/one kill method of shooting.(although I'm shooting Federal Gold Medal Match bullets)
If have no idea about caliber conversion kits.
If you go that route, I think I'd still try for the x54 just for the added range and power over the x39.

    13 is an evil number...lol.
How come you had to put "my" name there?
    Was it just fate?

    I'm with you on #7.
I've looked at those for a long time.
But the wallet keeps laughing at me.

    Thumbs up

Put me down for a Sig 556 full size and an SBR version with suppressors.

    What I can afford...
Some sort of FA, I'd want a full caliber weapon (no SMG). Every once in a while I start looking but then common sense kicks in...
Sig 556 classic, I've been looking at them for 2 years now but can't quite make myself buy one.
    Another S&W revolver such as a 686
    Some body armor
gen 3 or better night vision
