Are the mags different or is the magwell different on the bottom one?

From what I read at sagia12.com the mags are the same on both versions, but the top one has a traditional rock in AK style latch and the second has a direct insert like an AR. Neither are compatable with the VEPR12 and Saiga12 mags.
Ah, OK. Thought it might have been a different gauge and they did that to leave the mag well the same size.

Ah found a thread on these.
I just got back from Gander Mountain where I saw these for the first time.
I was just wondering how they got to import these.
Receiver says
ZIJIANG FACTORY
MADE IN CHINA
I'm guessing maybe assembled here? I don't know
I know it's sporting and all but I didn't think that mattered with Chinese stuff.
Not all that great at least for the I think $899 they wanted for it.
Plastic mag and that sleeve for direct insert is plastic and seems to just be added to the bottom not part of the receiver.
Looked pretty good on the rack and very well may work good but not what I'm used to seeing quality wise in Chinese variants

I have a Saiga... Think I'll stick with it or maybe add a VEPR... $899 for second rate does not sound good...
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...
