    1951 Tula SKS

Friend of mine has a 1951 tula sks, all matching numbers in really good shape, just some minor wear on the finish and he was wondering what it was worth. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a refurb or original? Normally but not always a refurb has a blued/black bolt and maybe a laminate stock plus a refurb mark on the receiver which, IIRC is a square with a diagonal line inside it. With things the way they are today it probably doesn't matter that much any more. I'll more or less split the difference with Helen Keller and say $500. If it's got the 45 degree gas block it might bring more to a collector. Again, IIRC they only did that in 1950 or maybe 51.
