    Show Us Your Carbines

Let's see your Carbines. Mine is a Bavarian M-1 Carbine manufactured in 1943. It has traveled to from the US to Germany, Austria and then back to the US that I know of. Here is it.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Mine is a Rural Police. It is an Inland and as far as I can tell it is all oringinal. Does not appear to have been used much, the barrel, though it has 1943 stamped on it, is almost brand new.

Super nice. About all I see is the adjustable rear sight that might be a change from original issue. All carbines as far as I know had the L shaped flip leaf rear sights. The retrofit of the adjustable rear sight improved the weapon but it covers up the maker most times as the receivers were not originally going to have that area covered by the rear sight.

I was reading earlier today that a Bavarian is not considered manufacturer correct because there will be some upgrades, but they are considered historically correct for the period, specifically after we won in Europe in WWII. The sight does make reading the manufacturer hard.

Bavarian are lend lease type weapons given out by our Gov. after the war. Eventually the country recovered and started making and issuing their on weapons, the Carbines were returned and eventually made it back into the US.

That is one of the things I like about this rifle, the history is easy to trace based on the stamps that the Germans and Austrians were required to put on the rifles when they were issued them.

I like it. I never said what kind of carbines, just carbines. I am thinking of posting a picture of my Winchester M94 carbine next.
