Question Questions on my P.O.F. Enfield

Years ago I picked up a P.O.F. No4, MKII dated 1957 in a local shop. Seems like I paid $125-$150. Came with the spike bayonet and other than the usual dings and dents it's in G-VG condition. I've never shot it but I have tore it down and cleaned/oiled it. Bore looks fine. My questions are as follows:

Where these made in Pakistan or assembled there using British parts or a combination, (Paki receiver on British parts kit)? I almost never see these for sale or auction. Are they rare?

Mine seems as well made and solid and any other Enfield I've owned, is it up to the same standards as the British No4?

What's is the value on one of these?

    Lastly, anyone else have one?

Wish I could help, but I'm no Enfield expert. All I have is a No. 5...
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...

    Didnt catch this one.

I had one years ago and they are around.

There's LOTS of POF Enfields, guy down the road has a #5 he got for $25.

just examine the parts, whats stamped on them?

Alot of the POF receivers are way stronger than the usual Brit made guns. As for price, it's a collector thing. A shop would take a look and see it's POF and toss a low price on it cause "they" consider them inferior/knock-offs ( go figure)

Again price is determined by how hard a collector is to get one, IE: I got my last Savage NO.4 for $225 cause theres no demand in this area, POF would probly bring even lower.

on your shoulder at a gun show you could go $300 even $400 and the right guy will bite .

I have one of the POF #4 rifles & I know of several more in the hands of collectors in the Denver area.
From what I have learned these wee made on machinery that Pakistan purchased from BSA in the 1950's.
Once the L1A1 was adpoted there was no more need to keep the production capacity in the UK.
Some of the POF rifles have a mid-barrel band with a hole drilled thru on each side that matches up with a relief cut in the stock.
This is to mount a bi-pod (I have seen examples of them here.)
Lots of interesting variants when you collect Lee-Enfields!

To the OP I would say post a picture. The key to your question in in two parts.
    1. Condition.
    2. Condition.

Yes the Savage made #4s are some of the best quality Enfields ever made. I have seen some very nice POFs too and hope the OP puts up a photo otherwise he won't get clean opinions.

    OK, now I am envious!
You see a lot of #4 sniper rifles, but not many Savages, and certainly not all are that clean!
