Got back from the beach this morning. Excellent trip with good times. I brought my M4 w/ 18 mags, G22 w/3mags, a bit of spare ammo, and some kit.

Only had one incident that sent up red flags. Went to get some coffee at an out of the way "Stop n' Rob". Some thug shit head struck up a conversation with me. Asked me if I was from out of state for no reason. Just walked up to me and asked while I was fixing my coffee. I made it very clear that I was not the guy to speak with and he made some smartass comment about me being white, walked out the door and just stood there. Before I was able to pay for my coffee, some local LEOs showed up and thug-boy quickly unassed the AO.

My main thinking was Katrina type stuff. I have never stopped thinking about tourists that may have been caught in NOLA and never got out because they were unable to protect themselves. My intention was safe passage back home. As the old saying goes, "It is better to be prepared for something that does not happen than to be unprepared for something that does."

I just assumed he was non-white. Why would a white guy make comments about your race? People are strange...

My apologies... I lacked the specifics in my post ... he referred to me as a smart-assed white mother fucker. Not sure why. He was dressed L.A. thug style and sporting a blue bandanna. He may have forgotten he was white or I mistook him for white and was just light skinned.
