    SIG 556 problems?

Who was it before the crash that was saying they had parts breakage problems with their SIG556?

    Anybody remember?
I cannot remember the details now.

I just know that I'm kinda liking this SIG 556 Classic SWAT version.
But I'm not spending that kind of money on it if it has problems.

I can't remember if it was the trigger, the extractor, the bolt or something, or what.
Need info if you are still out there.

For the same near ballpark money wise, would I be better off to spend just a couple hundred more and look at the Para TTR?

I'm a big Sig fan but I didn't like that rifle at all. It's heavy, doesn't feel well balanced and there's a few parts that are "Sig only". I'd go for something like that POF that abpt1 is looking at. The Addax Tactical ones look pretty good, too. Those are the 2 that I've narrowed it down to.

hell yeah ... I like the feel of the POF a lot more than the sig ..IMHO the sig is twice as heavy in the front and The rubber recever covers around the bolt I just didnt like after I got it apart . now dont get me wrong NFA brought one to the shoot and it ran flawless ...?

I may have to research these 415's a little more.

I'm still liking the Para too, but the 415 is a lil cheaper.

I'd love to have one of their or lwrci's .308 piston AR-10s!

How about RRA's new piston rifle?

Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson

I still haven't found the limits of my cheap ol'AR builds. I still like the idea of 2 std AR's VS one expensive one, if I ever have an issue I got a back up... For the price of some of the high dollar makes I could have 3 (or 4) builds, that's a whole mess of spare parts if need be.

Did anybody figger out what the parts issue was with the SIG? I'm still somewhat interested in that rifle. As far as brass killer, the 223 Kalashnikov I use is not exactly brass friendly either.

    Thanks.

No. I haven't figured it out yet.
But I know for sure I'm not imagining it.
"Something" was breaking on these rifles according to one of our members.
I just cannot remember who it was now.
    Dammit!

Some SIG owners are an odd lot, when I had my shop I had a guy want to return his 556 because the rail screws were purplish and not black... If I remember some of the real issues were rail put on canted, barrels giving less then idea accuracy or even bent, rust on the weapons new. I'm not up on any broken parts...
