Taurus CT9 Carbine is now shipping

Keep an eye out for Taurus' new 9mm carbine. They're supposedly shipping now. MSRP is a steep $898. Ouch. Oh, and only 10 round mags available at this time. 922(r) and all.

As someone in the comments section posted, one would probably be better off saving $600 by getting a Hi-Point carbine.

Ten round max mag capacity per US law per Taurus. Loser just for this reason. And not Taurus' fault, just our sporting purpose clause of the new ATF second amendment.

Reminds me of an H&K USC that got intimate with a Sig 556.

But wait, the Beretta CX-4 Storm carbine is imported with 15 round mags!!!

For that money I'd go Berretta Storm....

Yep, It is definitely HIDEOUS. I liked the Ruger PC-9 or the PC-40. Solid looking regular carbine. This is pretty ugly IMHO.

    Question

According to my 2012 Gun Digest this carbine is made for Taurus by Knights Armament. Anyone else know if that is true?

Maybe some parts are made by Knights? It is my understanding that this is made in Brazil, hence the butthole stock and 10-round mags.

Gun Digest is probably wrong. The 2012 edition was most likely written in 2011 or at least parts of it were and at that time perhaps Taurus was making plans with KA to handle the production then things changed. From what I've read though you're correct, it seems to be made entirely offshore by Taurus. Not really crazy about the looks of it but had they made it here along the lines of the KelTec where you can get it with a Glock, S&W or Beretta lower it would do a lot better.

I have had good luck with Taurus, but I agree with your statement on the 9mm carbine. It's not like a .44 Mag where the extra barrel gives you a significant jump in power. A man is better off with a 9mm pistol for serious use, and a .22 for fun.

get away from the WWB crap 9mm .

9mm out of 8-10" barrels using various loads near or in the +P range are good for even 300yds.
though it ISNT good for any form of barrier penetration though, you dont really get that until you get into the magnums.

This is my take on it. Why? Why build another 9 mm carbine? Hi Point and Beretta Storm have it pretty well sewed up.
