Might torture test myself and some guns next weekend.

Thinking about using the farm to run up and down a slate road which is about a 150 yards at a 132 degree angle with a primary weapon, knife, side arm and ammo. Also not just exposing the weapons to mud but myself with the weapons and laying in the cold creek as long as possible. Got to test yourself with your gear and then see what you can do.

You're going to be in for a lot of clean up after getting everything wet.

Are you going to be shooting throughout this?

No way I'd sitting in mud unless it was in order to shoot.

Actually, I think this sounds pretty stupid. Why don't you just go camping and hiking instead of running up and down the same little road and laying in the mud for no reason?

The discipline comes from 2 a day football practice. To push, push, and push yourself. No matter what...then keep pushing through all the nasty elements. That "little" road is a slate and gravel climb up one side and down another of epic proportions...and of course there will be shooting done. Whats the point in owing SHTF fan weapons if you don't push yourself with them.

You should get someone to film you so you can post it on YouTube.

Yes I've shot in a downpour, hunted in downpours and know enough that it sucks to be wet and get all your gear wet. It also sucks when you wear glasses and the rain is getting on them making it very difficult to get any kind of sight picture. Oh while you're at it here's another challenge for you. Put on a gas mask and run and shoot wearing that.

I know wearing glasses in a down pour can be terrible.

Make yourself some dummy weapons. Cut out some plywood templates and add weight to it. You should even make them a little heavier. Its how the Romans use to train.

Might be a good idea to do this drill buck naked, except for the gas mask.

If you're going to be rolling in mud or going into creeks it would certainly make the cleanup a lot easier. For a weapon I would choose an AK, it doesn't matter if it gets dirty.

Great. Now I have to gouge out my mind's eye.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

I did a charity run for injured/killed vets and their families and I saw a group of recon marines run it in full load out with gas masks. Made me feel like a complete pussy.
