    Found a New Gun Store

My wife and I went by the local Army Base PX on the was home from the Gun Show. I had heard about Army and Air Force Exchanges (PXs) selling guns but I had not seen it till today. It was not a big selection but it included shotguns, rifles, semi-autos (AR type), pistols and revolvers. I didn't have a lot of time to check the prices but I saw a Remington 1911 for about $500. That seemed less than out in town and I think it is without tax. I will definitely be going back to do some comparison shopping.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

The one I was at was in near Fairfax, VA. It was on Fort Belvoir.

Had very good luck with firearm purchases in the PX on Camp Lejuene when in the Corps. The fact that you don't have to pay tax is a huge savings from the start.

I remember the first PX that had a gun store in it, that I had seen... when I was a kid and it was one of the bases in VA....this was 20 years ago or so.

Just this year a PX in a MI base just opened a gun store.
Here's to pussy and gunpowder. One to live for, the other to die by.....Goddamn though, I do love the smell of 'em both !!!

Now if they would allow us to carry the guns we bought on the base, on the base it would be great.

It is also seems that the Navy, my service, is the only one who does not have guns for sale in the Exchanges. Not every PX has a gun section, but no Exchanges have a gun section.

Well, I guess the military just doesn't trust its members to have any guns....?

Actually, if I remember right, it was President Clinton that enacted the law that prevents us from carrying firearms on bases.

Actually Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5210.56 was signed into effect in February 1992 by Donald J. Atwood, deputy secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush. Reference - http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a272176.pdf

    After today, it's all historical.

Thanks. I suppose this was just before he cancelled his life time membership.
