Local Wall Mart has a steady supply of ammo.

It has been spotty for the last few months. But lately, the local wally world has been pretty well stocked up on 9mm, .38, .357, even .380! The only caliber that they have been having trouble stocking is .44 mag. Rifle ammo, and rimfire has been abundant as well.

I lucked into some 100 rd Winchester white box .380
at my local Wallace World a month or so ago.
They haven't had any more of it but other stuff
    is coming in more regularly.

All my ammo still says Winchester or Federal on it. If Wal-Mart wants to sell it to me cheap, then who am I to bitch. If you want to go to your local mom & pop gun shop and pay $20/box for 9mm ball, that's your business. I'll be stocking up at Wal-Mart for $9.47.

I have been buying the Federal 9mm, .40S&W, and the .45 ACP.I went in the other day and saw they were stocking Federal 55gr .223 and 150 gr .308.

I need to go back and see if they have the Winchester 2.5" and 3" .410 shells.

Did you take note what the 44 mag was fetching price wise?

They have ammo because they are still charging $.40 a round for .223 while everywhere else ammo prices continue to fall. Hell, they even just raised the price on 9mm Federal to over $10 a box, I can get Winchester Nato 9mm for $9.

That's just it, if my local gun shops didn't try and rape me on ammo costs, I'd buy it from them, but I'm not going to pay twice the fucking cost, no way. Yesterday I bought a box of Federal Game-Shok, High Brass, 12 gauge shells, 2 3/4, 5 shot, 25 shells for $10.00. It would have been twice that at the gun store where I bought my shotgun.
    Returns June 3rd.

I have noticed the local Wally World has a good supply of ammo which should mean that the panic buying has ended. Usually that would mean prices coming down but Walmart has raised prices in the last few weeks.

Guess standard economics doesn't apply to ammo, and not only Walmart. Most places are still charging crazy high prices.

I don't know about every caliber, but on hunting ammo this isn't a good time to buy unless they're running a sale to intice you into the store. That's how I usually buy shot shells. Wally's here usually puts Winchester on sale right before hunting season.
